Leif's The Hall of the Rainbow Mage, IC (A) [D&D 3.5]

ooc: What doorways are there in the dining room, and are they closed or open? BTW a similar question will always apply to any room Sam can see.

"Eww!" Sam's sensitive nose exhales in disgust.

"I appreciate that you have my back, Blade. But don't worry. Looters have been here and there's no blood. I don't think there will be much danger until we start opening doors. Inside the tower, now, that could be more interesting."

Laz retives the crossbow and all two magic bolts and 5 of the other normal ones.... he tosses the leather loop of his shoulder and lets the crossbow hang off his side as he continues with the rest to search....

you're right this place was quickly ransacked... keep your ears and eyes open for anything else worth noting.....

OOC: Doorways? Look at the map. Doors are closed unless I tell you otherwise. A similar answer will always apply to any room Sam can see.

Vaidun remains quiet as he looks about the house. His skills in searching were not as good as his companions, so he let them do the work, and does his best to stay out of the way.

Blade looks back at the companions in the library, seeing the crossbow over Laz's shoulder. He marches over and stands in front of the other.

"You will return that back to its resting place. We are not common thieves or bandits. That property belongs to either Londar Brightrain, if we find him alive, or Learah Relight." Blade says, his voice as cold as steel.

Whin's vision was as acute as an eagle's, but his lack of experience with dungeoneering meant that he knew not what to look for. Instead he kept his place in the marching order and kept his eyes open for anything out of the ordinary - Though what could be considered 'ordinary' in the ransacked mansion of a missing mage?
"Nilah, is the statue Enchanted?" He asked the warlock before turning to the discussion behind him. "I say keep the crossbow for now, if you have use of it. If it helps in saving him, I doubt he will mind, and once we have concluded our investigation we will return it to whichever of it's rightful owners is still alive. Whin looks to Blade "does that meet with your approval?"

I don't have Search, but the ever-vigilant(and paranoid, though he'd never admit it) Whin is always actively looking out for trouble.

OOC: Vaidun does have +10 Spot and +10 Listen, and I suppose hissearch is +6 due to intelligence. So if any of those things should prove handy. :)

Whin looks to Blade "does that meet with your approval?"

"If I have your word that if said item is not returned to its rightful owner, full compensation will be given to them from yourself or Laz, then yes" Blade says, walking over to Whin to shake on the deal.

Not trying to be a dick, but Blade will not be allowing pilfering without repaying the owners. It's funny because I think the total value is like 100 gp, which is pennies at this level.

Oh yeah, Blade is +17 to Search, he gets a +4 class bonus, which is cool.

"We should concern ourselves with the mages safety, not his sensibilities. We are to find him, not to coddle his belongings. If the crossbow aids us in saving him, we use it, and repay him afterwards, or simply inform Learah to deduct it from our payment..." Nilah responded to Blade's concern over keeping the crossbow.

"Nilah, is the statue Enchanted?"

Nilah turned his gaze upon the statue, so that he may answer that very question...
