Leif's The Hall of the Rainbow Mage, IC (A) [D&D 3.5]

OOC: Nilah's feeling his oats today, is he?? :)

OOC: Sorry, don't quite follow what you're asking there? But what I had in mind was using the Voracious Dispelling Invocation on the lock. Re-reading the technique, it'd only suppress the trap, but might give Sam enough time to 'take 20' on disarming it... if I succeed.

OOC: Sam knows that the trap cannot be mechanically removed. Either a special key is needed, which will bypass the trap altogether, or else the magical trap must be removed in some other way. And 'Disarm Trap' is not a skill that a character can 'take 20' to perform, anyway.

"Since I have the key, I might as well try it" Sam says, and pulls out the key the lady gave him. If it looks like it will fit properly, he'll put it in the lock and try it.

That's the ticket, Sam! Yes, it does look like it might just fit, and when you try it, the lock gives a satisfying "click."

Vaidun glances up at the sun in the sky as we waits for the scouts to return. "Nothin' like a little waiting to keep one ready for action, eh?" he says, a wry smile on his face.

Vaidun notes that it is about half-past 1 pm. OOC: I guess. I just made that up! Anyone have any objections?

"Gomlar.. no one enters or leaves this mansion besides myself and my companions here... you stay and guard this front door.." Laz utters quietly as he prepares to move inside with the rest of everyone else... it's too much of a risk of the golem breaking things or setting off traps to move him inside right now.... once a full search of the house is done he will come back for him...

The Large Entry Hall of Londar's Mansion

The door swings inward to reveal the entry hall. Fragments of the windows that once flanked the door intermingle with pieces of a porcelain vase that someone dropped. The only items remaining in the entry hall are large pieces of furniture that couldn't be easily carried away. Blank spots on the walls indicate that even Londar's paintings have been stolen. The hallway door to the east has been left open, providing a clear view of the hallway, but the door in the north wall is closed. There are gouges evident in the wood paneling of the interior walls of the room.
