Leif's The Hall of the Rainbow Mage, IC (A) [D&D 3.5]

The wizard smiles. "Simple etiquette, my dear. My apologies if I offended you...perhaps the ways of the Swordcoast North have no place here." Vaidun offers a short bow by way of apology. "Still, we have several questions for you, so if we could sit while we speak, we would all be much more comfortable. And any of the questions may well be important to finding your uncle."

OOC: Leif, where is "here" exactly? LOL. I mean, I know we are in the town, but do you know where about in the Realms the town is located? Location isn't all that important to Vaidun...he can teleport, so not a big deal. Just curious. ;)

"Please! By all means, make yourselves comfortable." She continues to steal glances at Vaidun....

OOC: Not a clue. The module as written is not in the Realms at all. That's just some adopted context for [whatever] purposes. Is there any region where you'd like it to be, anyone?

Vaidun takes a seat and waves his hand at the barkeep. "Wine please. Something white and refreshing...'tis to early in the day for a red." Then the wizard turns to smile at Learah. "So, Mrs. Relight, we know that your Uncle is missing. Have you been to his manor? Is it like him to disappear for long periods of time?"

OOC: No worries on the region. I figure probably Cormyr, Sembia or the Dalelands probably makes the most sense.

OOC: Dalelands souds best to me -- Make it so, Lieutenant Commander Rhun!

"He has been gone now for several weeks. What troubles me the most is that he was to attend my recent wedding, and he failed altogether to do so! That's so very unlike Uncle Londy!"

"Do you suspect foul play or no? If it's an absence, perhaps work on a new spell or other form of magical research... if it's a disappearance, we'll need information on anyone who might be particularly fond of your uncle..." Nilah stood behind Vaidun on his left, his magical aura obscuring his ability to determine her own, though Nilah thought perhaps if he took the effort to concentrate for a few moments he'd be able to detect something. He started working towards that end, though not anticipating any immediate success.

"Exactly how long has been been gone, who was he around shortly before his 'disappearance'? Also, when was your wedding, Mrs. Relight? Congratulations, by the way..." The Drow bowed slightly, making sure his skin was still concealed behind his cowl.

As the intrepid band of hardy souls enters the establishment, a sumptuously-dressed young lady rises from her meal, her face beaming at you.

"Welcome weary travelers! I am Learah Relight, and from the look of you, you must be the help that I was told would arrive." She scans your faces, her eyes coming to rest upon the not-so-tall human with the long black hair and the aquamarine eyes. "And you must be the one called 'Blade.' Dear Penora told me all about you," she says, blushing coyly.

"Yes, I am Blade, I am glad you are the person we are to meet. Sister Penora was most worried about your uncle. I was worried whatever darkness fell upon him might also come for you and my heart is glad that you haven't been affected." the human replies, taking a seat next to the woman.

Learah says, "Yes, I fear that he may have met with foul play. I took the sheriff to his mansion a week after I began to suspect something was wrong, and we found his home to have been badly vandalized and that looters had already been in the place. This all happened about two weeks ago."

"Well met, Sir! Sister Penora speaks very highly of you."
As the others begin to ask their questions, Vaidun turns to look for the barkeep. "Ahem, that wine, good sir?"
The Master of the House makes haste to comply.

Laz took his distance from everyone else taking post as he leaned against the wooden door frame of the exit... he used his acute elven hearing to pick up on the conversations between Learah and his new-found companions. Laz was being his normal typical self, standoff-ish at best as he looked about the room slowly, keeping an eye on things. His companions would be more than able to devise what was going on here, too many cooks would spoil the broth...

Sam gives a slight bow to the large lady. "Congratulations, m'lady. I am Sam. We would like to search the house for any clues that might have been left. We need directions, and if it's locked up, do you have a key? Also, are there any neighbors you know of?"
