Lesser transformation spell...

That's not abuse. People are supposed to increase their caster levels beyond their character level as primary spellcasters.

Exploiting every game element possible, even the most obscure, all for the sake of a proverbial "high score" so they can "win the game"? I think we'll just have to agree to disagree.

EDIT: Anyway, the spell's done folks.

Care to post the final result please?

Well, I thought it was done, but I'm not happy about the level and duration. Here's the spell...

Battle Instinct
Transmutation
Level: Sor/Wiz ?
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: ?

This spell increases your battle instincts and martial skills for the duration, making your base attack bonus equal to your character level.
Material Component: A drop of blood.

Now, originally, I had it at 2nd-level with a duration of 1 round/level, but I'm not comfortable with it being that low level. So I'm thinking of 3rd-level, but I don't know that I like the duration of just 1 round/level, but I think 1 minute/level would be too long.

Suggestions?

3rd level spell.

Duration- any of the below might work. Just depends on what feels right from a rules standpoint. I would probably (myself) go with either the "1 minute" duration or the "1 minute + 1 round/level".

3 rounds + 1 round/level
5 rounds + 1 round/level
1 minute
1 minute + 1 round/level

Hm. I hadn't thought about just setting the duration at 1 minute. I think that would work well for a 2nd-level spell. But I also like the 1 minute + 1 round/level for a 3rd-level spell.

I'm really diggin' that as well. I think I'll run with that.

Give 'er a shot and see how it works in play. If it doesnt feel right or seems too long for the duration, shorten it to 1 minute flat and maybe drop the spell to 2nd level.

And let us know how it works out. :D
