No. There's no such thing as a 1st-level Chuck Norris. If you play a Chuck Norris, you have to start at Epic levels.pawsplay said:Chuck Norris.

That is just because people come up with so many names they feel are better than "warlord". Not really a credit to "warlord".hong said:The fact is, regardless of what problems I or other people have with warlord, noone has been able to come up with a universally accepted alternative. I like either captain or commander, but other DUMB, SILLY people don't. Those people like herald, marshal, tactician, myrmidon or something else, but this is because they are DUMB AND SILLY. So it looks like we're stuck with warlord.
I don't see it. The only warlords from fantasy I can think of epitomize both halves of the name: War, and Lord. As in, they've got a really big army they're the Lord of. No one is "the warlord" of a group of five people (including himself).
Or an evil wizard. Imagine this scenario.epochrpg said:I could see a D&D fantasy version of a warlord-- but it would be a self-proclaimed orcish king who rules through tyrrany, executions, and fear-- not some brave hero.

Nebulous said:Maybe it's negative connotations associated with a "Warlord." I certainly don't think of it as a heroic class. It sounds like a petty, ruthless, violent person who rules through intimidation and fear. Maybe they can call it a "Tyrant"?
