I'm fine with Warlord on that count. I only dislike the "warlock" similarity.

Good point... never thought about it before, but it looks odd to have two classes with almost the same name.

I imagine the Warlord with War Locks of Jammin' and the Warlock with War Locks of Shooting Sheriffs blowing up an Awakened Weed into smoke LOL

Maybe it's negative connotations associated with a "Warlord." I certainly don't think of it as a heroic class. It sounds like a petty, ruthless, violent person who rules through intimidation and fear. Maybe they can call it a "Tyrant"?

Yeah, well in reality a warlord is this guy:

Who enslaves/murders/cuts the hands off people for diamonds. They steal & indoctrinate children and turn them into killers. I chose not to show any images related to that, but they are easy enough to find.

This is partly the reason I don't want warlord to be the name of a character class-- because it is a word used to describe guys like that-- heads of paramilitary groups like the RUF-- people that make orcs and all sorts of things that dnd consider "evil" look like nice guys.

I cannot see a good character calling themself a warlord. Maybe it is a class only for super evil characters?

And this is probably the spin that Wizards will give it. Not a mass murderer of men women and children in the pursuit of wealth and glory. But "evil" is still what i associate with warlord, regardless.
