I am not sure who this is marketed for. Is it for existing RPG players or first time players?

I feel like a box set with pregens and three adventures or "episodes" would have been a more enticing product and get you some shelf space in target next to the D&D starter sets.

We were using our GI Joe's to run rpgs in the dirt pile behind our house in the late 80s. Alot of time debating who had better stats when writing up the character sheets for each figure.

I wish them success, and if this works I wonder about other titles of the Hasbroverse. (Rom the space-knight vs the inhumanoids? Visionaries, M.A.S.K.? Pretty Cure: Glitter Force!!

Shouldn't My Litle Pony to use a basic and simple version of Essence20 for the pre-teen players, the potential market target?

How to design encounter with the right power level, nor too easy neither too hard?

If players start to create homebred adaptation of no-medieval fantasy franchises using the Essence20 then this is sign this system works. Or using the characters in alternate time, like a zombie apocalypse, a crossover with Overwatch (by Blizzard)..

Oh, a lot of the fun with licensed properties was always looking for the statistics of your favorite characters. Everyone wants to know the Doctor's Intelligence rating, what level fighter Conan was, how much damage Stormbringer does, and the like; if they're all in the same RPG system you can have the Grey Mouser hoodwink Frodo and have Gandalf the Gray/White and Yennefer of Vengerberg have magical contests.

Now we may be able to see if Megatron can defeat Lord Zedd. All in good fun.

I remember all of these properties from my youth, but are they still popular with the kids? Are are they marketed to middle-aged guys like me looking for a nostalgic game, or is this something today’s younger audience will be interested in? I figured Transformers was still around after the movies a few years back, and GI Joe was a thing before I was born, so I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s still on the shelves, but I thought for sure Power Rangers was gone by now…
(Not hating on anything, just genuinely curious.)
