It's not a difficult concept, really. See, it's like a magazine with adventures inside. You pick it up periodically and derive enjoyment by reading, and sometimes even running, the adventures in your game. What's not to get?

See this thread http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=142672 for what's not to get...

Yeah, those subscription difficulties will always plague the magazine trade. Personally, I think most of the problems are beyond their control. But, that's posting for that other thread if I wanted to jump into it (which I think I won't).

Just having a little fun with the phrase "I don't get it" in a self-effacing way. It's one of the pillars of comedy, doncha know? ;)

I don't get it.

I realize that I may be a bit biased....

But since three of them are pretty close in level (Temple, Glacial, Coop) I would guess that people that voted for one of those would be willing to go with just about any of those three. While they may not be willing to go with a first level module.

While Cairns has the most votes, I don't think it would get the most participation. Especially since if you don't already have it, it would be difficult to get it.

But again, I am biased...

Perhaps this project would be better served by less rigidity in the original plan? It seems that some folks would simply drop out if an adventure they have no interest in running (because of cost, level, having to put a hold on their regularly scheduled campaign, or whatever reason). Maybe it would be of greater benefit in the long run to simply allow everyone's vote to be a simple sign or participation and try to get 150 people to run 7 adventures, each or their own choosing, and follow up with a report of how it went for them, what changes they might have made, where it shined and where it might have been less than stellar. As laudable as the original goal was, perhaps 150 reports on 7 adventures is ultimately more useful than 50 reports on 1? Afterall, it is all about the participation and the fun and not really about trying to get people to do something they seem to have no interest in doing.

I'm being stubborn and going through with the original plan just to see how it goes. However, obviously people are free to run whatever they want and they are free to talk about the different modules. Dragonfiend Pact I'm in the midst of running for my group anyway. So, while we will have one thread on whatever the outcome of the vote is, there is no reason we can't have other threads encouraging people to run these other adventures and talking about them as well. So, I guess in the end we'll end up doing Mark's suggestion along with what I orginally envisioned. :D

I won't be running a separate thread or project. This one lives or dies by your plan, whether it be what you originally planned or some variation on it to which you change. Mine was only a suggestion to try and maximize the outcome. It sure would be disappointing, though, to wind up with 50 or fewer people participating when there could have been as many as 150 or more. Ultimately, it's just a matter of examining the real goal and pursuing it. Do as you will.
