Level 10 Half Dragon Character Help

At a guess, DM's houserule.

And in my opinion by first glance a bad one. If a person can reach level 10 by making swords for 4 years something is off.

And how do you become a better fighter, wizard etc. by making swords?

Are you taking into account that they'd be doing things other than making swords with their time?

I used the standard craft rules (poor as they are) and the weekly work progress from them. And as I rounded up it should leave a couples of weeks for doing other stuff per year. I didn't model modern times and vacation, in those days your worked almost everyday unless you were rich.

well, its supposedly like you slowly gain a deeper understanding of life. i think.

but people. this is a thread for feats!! i dont have all the books. i just have access to the races of the dragon, the 3.0 epic, and the 3.0 books, so please restrict everything to these books

well, its supposedly like you slowly gain a deeper understanding of life. i think.

But by the numbers that is not slow at all. This world would be shock full of level 10+ fighters, wizards and rogue npc's in their early twenties who safely earned those levels by smithing, weaving, carpentry and so on.

Makes absolute no sense.

And as for feats. You dont need no stinking feats. You are large, impossibly strong and can breathe fire. Grab a weapon and whack away (though you might level almost as fast and much more safely by smithing :)

ahhh..... but if i take metabreath feats with great cleave and combat reflexes....
hehehe...

(in battle with 30 or so goblins)
goblin: die foul human
goblin: no hes dragon
goblin: human
goblin: dragon
me: DIE!!!!
*entagling fire breath*
me: DIE!!!!
*great cleave*
me: what, no more?

Feats

Well if you can't find any feats in the normal rules, just do it like you did everything else - talk to the DM and make some up. Home brew feats are always better than the ones in the books!

I suggest:

Dragon Breath - If good, breath like a gold dragon equal to your level in hit dice. Evil - breath like a red dragon equal to your level in hit dice - Neutral - you benefit from being a nancy on the sidelines and can choose whichever dragon type you want.

Prereq - Pushover DM

:p

i already got something like that going on. like i said, i get bigger, badder, and better. it also helps ease the +3 level problem.

Skill focus use magic device? Yeah it's not a class skill, but the +3 would help a ton. That way not only can you get bigger, badder, and better you also could use any magic item in the game.

I'm going to second the suggestion that he switch Int and Cha and take at least three levels of Paladin before continuing in Fighter. That weak Will save won't kill him-- it'll wipe out the party. Plus, if he's taking Power Attack and Cleave, he can replace Great Cleave with Divine Might; monsters that Great Cleave would be useful against are better handled with your breath weapon.

Even getting 45 XP for every short sword you build isn't going to matter, especially if you're fighting above your CR. Which you should be able to handle readily.

my character cant be a paladin. DM is only allowing one of them. and weve already got one. and i dont like paladins anyway

So switch Int and Wis and be a monk. 18 Wis and 12 Int would work well. Not counting the belt, Half-dragon 10th level monk with 18 Dex and Wis would be AC 24 before any magic. (+4 Dex, +4 Wis, +4 Natural, +2 Monk). Attack (flurry) would be +15/+15/+10 without magic. Damage 1d10 plus 8 without magic. Saves would be +13/+12/+12 without magic. Bonus 50 hit points from Con without magic.

It's not often one gets the opportunity to have a truly combat-effective monk. It seems such a shame to not take advantage of this golden opportunity.

Of course, as a monk, a +6 STR item may not really be the best choice, but it would be effective, certainly.

I could flesh it out for you, if you like, but you'd have to tell me your character creation rules (what are you allowed to buy, etc,).
