LG vs. CE: Lawful Good is Victorious!

A mighty river of fog flows into the arena, charging upwards to 15n105e70z and attacking Meineke with a tendril. The river streams forward like an evil waterfall, swollen with storm and spray. Accompanying the shape is a susurrus of dreamlike voices that murmur, cry, and rail against some terrible fate. Slender tendrils of mist extend from the Huge mass, patting and feeling for sustenance.

OOC: Finally, a decent CE monster. Good thing no dragons have Force brea...waitaminnit!

Round 138: Meineke's bite goes straight through the fog (rolled 49, 40%) as he takes his AoO.

The fog's tendril touches with a chill (rolled 25 touch) and causes 15 damage and drains 4 Int. Meineke has 240 hp and 18 Int. The fog gains 5 temp hp and now has 149 hp.

The fog does not dodge the force (26 Ref save) and takes 92 points of force damage. The fog has 57 HP remaining.

The fog touches Meineke as he backs away (20 incorporeal touch) for 19 points of damage and 1 point of Intelligence drain. The fog gains 5 HP, so now has 62 HP. Meineke has 221 HP and 17 Intelligence. Meineke was not cowed by the fog's initial attack (35 Will save).

Meineke[sblock]You can use breath weapon next round.[/sblock]

Meineke bites the fog on approach (rolled 46, 65% miss) for 27-10=17 points of damage.

The fog touches Meineke (23+2=25 incorporeal touch) for 14 damage plus 4 points of Intelligence drain. Meineke is down to 207 HP and 13 Intelligence. The fog gains 5 HP and has 45 HP remaining.

Meineke will see how the fog enjoys another breath, then decide whether to move or not.[sblock]Q: any combat related downside to the lowered INT? I can use restoration, but I'm not seeing an immediate need compared with normal healing.[/sblock]

Round 140

The fog probably does not enjoy the breath. It does not dodge it (26 Ref save) and takes 100 points of force damage. The fog is destroyed. Meineke still has a move action before his next opponent enters.

Meineke[sblock]The lowered INT gives a -5 on Knowledge (planes) (the only Intelligence based skill likely to be used). Otherwise, there is no problem. Once Int gets below 10, that limits tactics and use of feats like PA. Just play Meineke a little dumber, but Meineke never needed complex tactics to begin with, so it really does not change things much.

Meineke can use breath weapon in round 142.[/sblock]Chaotic Evil preview[sblock]A greater flame snake (Fiend Folio).[/sblock]
