Maybe it's because when they are together, they make such an unusual pair -- a couple of swaggering spellcasters. Nebin is a lot of fun, though. I don't know if it's the same with all gnomes, but Nebin has a great sense of humor. Throw illusions on top of that and you have a recipe for a good time in any town.
