Life is Broken!

I was doing fine until I made a really terrible multi-classing decision a few years ago.

You think you got some multi-classing issues?

Meh.

I went from the Serious Bussinessman class to RPG publisher.

Talk about conflicting classes....

Certainly. Many people opt out of life everyday either through refusal to take responsiblity for their own actions or through suicide.

It's easier to blame the government for not regulating school food than it is to say you're a poor parent and haven't taught you're child neutritional values.

It's easier to blame your boss for not getting a raise as opposed to quitting and getting a job with the funds you think you deserve.

It's easier to let life pass you by then to bodily wrestle it to the ground and demand that it yield.

All too often, especially on talk shows, we see the wretcheness that is the human condition and the coddling that allows it to not only pass unremarked on, but to get sympathy for it.

Hmm. JoeG's post made me think about this a little more. Just like any game, you always have the option of quitting, but the options for further gaming are limited by personal beliefs in the afterlife. Understand that your gaming group will continue playing without you, although the game will be different, and some of the players might be sad or angry with you for quitting.

In the end, the game is what you make of it. It is fairly open-ended. The choices yoy make have a real impact on the game. Sure, sometimes the DM railroads you with an illness or natural disaster, or some such, but even there you have some choices as to what to do next, and the XP for coming through these challenges is pretty good.

I suppose the only real problem with the game is that it always ends with your character dying, but hopefully only after you get to accomplish something wonderful and are content with your character's story.

Oh, and hopefully there won't be a TPK for a very, very long time.
