Lifepath Table

Oh, tell me about it. One of the things I've got on the backburner is an idea for a game of some sort that uses d12s heavily, maybe exclusively. I could call it the Barbarian Game! (I'm sad... I've got a barbarian in my campaign, but he uses monkeygrip and so his axe does 3d6, not 1d12 :()

Whenever I get home I'll probably write a generator to automate this stuff. Cool resource!

I built a chart for one of the PCs in my never-got-played SAS game that used my d30. People are too hidebound in their appreciation of the different flavours of dice.

Exactly! I mean, hell, the d10 gets more respect than the d12. THE D10!!! It's not even a platonic solid, for christ's sake! Plus, 10's only factors are 2 and 5, but 12 has 2, 3, 4 and 6!

Stupid base-10 numbering system.

Mine is more about advancing characters in level than generating backgrounds at this point, so it'll be of little use, but here is the beginning of it. That give the actual directions how to use it. For an example, type Wanderer in the search field.

You might be interested in Tiddlyspot. They have free hosting of tiddlywikis with no ads, and best of all it automatically has the ability to save to the web. You can also save it to your computer as normal. I keep my campaign site on there: http://taintedlands.tiddlyspot.com/

Wow, did it change since I helped with that, boy!

The generator can easily be done through Tablesmith.

Hiya Outcast!! Hope you don't mind the changes/additions since you laid out the foundation. Feel free to add your name on the credits since you started this venture after all.

I really like this thing. I've always had problem doing developed backstories for my characters, this'll really help. I do have a few ideas, though.

One, you should roll for grandparents as well as parents, but probably increase the chance of them being dead already.

Second, 1d12 siblings? Seems a little odd that 12 siblings is as common as 1. Maybe that section could be changed to just a generic Family table. Roll 1d12 as normal, but use the following to determine what kind of family, instead of them all being siblings.

1-6 gets you siblings as normal
7-9 gets you a cousin
10-12 gets you an aunt or uncle

And you could roll the rest of the info on them just as if they were siblings, since I don't think those tables need much modification.

Thats a nice tool
(albeit a little hard to read)
