Ridcully: The NJO ended with "The Unifying Force" some time ago.
Anyone who wants to start at the beginning of the published Star Wars reading material would have to start with the Tales of the Jedi, set 4,000 years before Yavin, and deals with the Sith Empire and the Great Hyperspace War, followed by the Great Sith War.
