Like the game, hate the habits

Errr... that is, smoking *tobacco*. Have known more than the occasional roleplayer that indulged in smoking other substances, particularly to help fuel their imagination.
Heh, most gamer's I've ever met have been smokers. I'd say a good 80% of them were smokers.

As for the other issue, I've found that it lessens the imagination; it is, after all, a depressent which means, among other things, that it interferes with normal brain activity. Much like drinking. For awhile it's all fun but the session very rapidly degrades into pointless BS.

Btw, you're in Melbourne... want to join my group or could I join yours? :D

EDIT: Doh! I just checked your email in order to send you a note about gaming together and noticed that we've already met! You never did get back to me... was I really that scary? :D

Look, this is no different an arguement then people have about smoking in restaurants, public places, etc... It's futile and absurd.

If you can't put up with it, don't play. That simple. The host makes the rules.

Some people smoke - that's a fact of life. Some people are considerate, some are not. Fact of life as well.

Play with those who don't smoke if it bothers you.

Myself - I don't smoke, and wouldn't play with anyone who did unless they specifically were not smoking at the game. I also would more than likely choose to game with a non-smoking group totally, if I had to look for a group to game with.

Scary? Nahhhh... Just that nothing much has happened on the gaming front in my neck of the woods. So far, it's mainly been piss-farting around and spending time playing counter-strike :)

A decade ago. Just after the Student Center opened.

So, does the Science Center still leak like a sieve? :)

Then you haven't seen New Snell. It's a nice building. Very nice building.

There was actually a major coolant leak from the pipes in a few of the labs this fall; they had to evacuate the students, but most of their stuff (backbacks, books, etc.) was ruined. It's kinda funny looking back, especially since I wasn't one of them. :D

But, umm, if he's wearing a gas mask, what difference will that make? It's not like he's going to smell it...

Actually it depends on a lot of variables, but being that that is part of what I do for a living and it really not important...........

I live in Kentucky, everybody smokes, heck my wife smokes. I used to smoke till I got High Blood Pressure and the doctor made me quit. My Grandfather smoked Cigars and chewed tabacco (at the same time) till the day he died. I'm sure that it's different from place to place but if I wanted to get away from smoking I'd have to leave my wife, disown my family and move to a different state, as far as gaming that's one of the things that started me smoking in the first place. I'm glad I quit and I don't miss it but I have learned to live with it around. A big part of the local income comes from tabacco farmers.
