[Link] Feats (fighting/Wis related)

I'm going over some of the martial arts stuff on my D&D page, and I've come up with a bunch of feats. I'd like to see what people think of them; useful, overpowered, bland, etc.

Rather than taking the (IMO) overly technical approach of some of the existing martial arts feats, which doesn't fit well with D&D's abstract combat, I've tried for a more quasi-mystical feel. Hence the references to tapping the will, meditation, focusing ki, etc, etc. It also makes for more interesting technobabble in the feat descriptions. :)

These look well done and seem reasonably balanced, but they suffer from the same things thatmost of the new feats in Sword and Fist suffered from: they were aimed directly at Monks, instead of at anyone with the prerequisties.

For instance, while I can see a Monk with "Power Attack" or "Quick Draw" or whatever, I have a harder time justifying things like "Stillness of Mind" or "Monkey Grip" for the classic D&D Vanilla Fighter.

3E seems to pander to the anime crowd a lot more than previous editions and my games don't lean that way particularly.

Fair 'nuff. I should mention that this stuff is designed to be used in conjunction with the martial artist class that I created last year (along with six million other people, it seems, after the CTHD craze). The class is basically meant to replace the monk, and it has some of the same Zen-ish flavour. So if the monk is an odd fit to your campaign, this class (and its feats) will be too.

That said, I'm a firm believer in the principle that you can find a handwave for anything. :) So the current feat descriptions may have an oddball mystic feel to them, but you could probably find something less mystical while keeping the mechanics intact. Instead of transcendental meditation, you could use strength of will or perception as a rationale.

I might write up some alternate descriptions later.
