List features of Pathfinder 2 that you like and might use in D&D 5e

You realize this is a nerf to fighters right?

Yep. I made Extra Attack reduces the penalty and increases the maximum number of attacks further.

I’m playing Adventures in Middle Earth so I don’t need to balance with spellcasters, only with rogues, rangers, non-casting bards, etc.

Agree AC reduction is not standard 5E approach, but it draws on the concept Reckless Attack that you can spurn defence for attack.

It also increases the challenging combat choices in a game like AiME which doesn’t have spells. So a character can choose a single careful attack, then be tempted to take another which just might kill their enemy but at higher risk of counter-attack, and then be tempted by a third.

It is not three actions like PF2, but I never would have thought of it without PF2. The reducing chance to hit of the second and third attack in PF2 really doesn’t work for my tempting optional attack approach (nor does it work for PF2 in my opinion).

I am happy with the three time scales.
• downtime per day
• social/exploration per 15-minute encounter (1% of day)
• combat/threat per round

I find myself zooming in and out of the time scales intuitively.

For example, when describing a backstory to set up a particular scenario, it helped to think of it as actually happening while I described it. But that it is happening ‘per day’. Players are able to intervene as they grasp what is happening. And a sensible amount of time passes.
