Speaking of timeline...what month/time of year is it currently in the LS 'verse?

At a start of an adventure, it should be the same than real world... after that, the thread enter a timewarp and it can evolve differently. If you need to be at another moment of the year (like an adventure that happen during halloween), I don't see a problem but without such need, just go for the day it start.

I was thinking about all the gadgeteers and mad scientists on the team and one way the might be able to assist other characters. That is acting as a good excuse for a character to buy a power that doesn’t quite fit with the powers s/he already has.

An Example - Say Character A realizes that he really wishes he could fly. The nature of his powers make any gaining of flight to be somewhat... unlikely (even by comic books standards). So he goes to one of the mad scientists Resolutes and asks him to make him a flying belt or a jet pack. Since Character B is friends with Character A he says “Hmm... sounds like fun to me! I’ll get right on it!”

Would it then be acceptable for Character A to spend his post mission Power Points on buying a device that gives flight?

In my opinion that would not only be acceptable, but should be encouraged. The characters have shared history and it explains new powers easily. I like it. :D

As the player of one of the Mad Super-Scientists on the Resolutes, I like it, too!

'Course, you should be careful & specific in what you ask for. "You asked to be able to soar like a hawk, and that's the ability I gave you! The beak and feathers are a... minor side-effect of the treatment." ;)

Similarly, if someone wants Sierra to magick them up, she can do that too :) But indeed, be careful what you wish for :]

I've got a question...I haven't seen any kind of "group roster," though I may have just been looking in the wrong places.

Is there room for an out and out spellcasting character? I had an idea for a character who's powers come from a sentient (and cantankerous) spellbook as well as a few spells she's mastered on her own. Not sure if such a "magic based" concept was really appropriate though.

Whaddy'all think?

I heard someone say something about a kitsune-based caster, but other than that, only Sierra is a caster hero that I know of, though she's not exactly a caster (she will probably tell you she's a Mutant to fit in). I have explanations and backstory revelations planned in the adventure I run after Ionian Dreams, but ID seems to be going slowly, so I'm not sure how long that will take. That adventure is going to be pretty darn awesome, well, if it gets approved anyway.

There is already a caster of sorts (The Amazing Mr. Jones -- more a mentalist than a true spellcaster, it seems, cloaking it all in Stage Magic trickery), and a wielder of mystic items (Zenshi, the Antiquarian). I don't think there is a bona fide spell-slinger anywhere on the roster, though.

There's a Pandora too to add to your 'people with magic items' list. I'd count Sierra as a bonafide caster, sort of. She has the Ritualist feat anyway, and tons of ranks in Knowledge [Arcane Lore] or whatever the magic one is. Does that make her a bonafide caster? ;)

TAmJ has those too but he is not a caster. Far more of a mentalist. I would have said that a bonafide caster should have a very wide magic array and power loss if bound and gagged. Just my take on what makes a magician.

I think that the name the power level and the archetype would be useful in the character list as a qick way to see what kind of characters the Resolutes were short of.
