Logic Questions

Oooh, that's technically correct (or could be), but is not the answer I'm looking for. There's another, less intuitive answer available.

Edit: Substitute 'in' for 'on' the boat, and try to answer it!

A family has 8 kids and were giving apples to each kid.
Jennifer got three, Peter got two, Jeff got one, Emma got two, Theodore got three, Veronica got four and George got one.

How many did Kelly get?

At the laundry.

There are 3 pair of red socks, 2 pairs of blue socks, and a pair green socks in the dryer.

What is the least amount of socks you would have to pull out of the dryer to get a matching pair, if you could not look ?

Technically 2, as that is the least you could pull and possibly get a matched set. However, to guarantee it, you would have to pull 4 socks.

2 is technically correct because I phrased it badly however 4 is the correct answer.

Is there only one syllabel in George ?
Well, that gets into details of how to count syllables, of course ;). But by most methods, yes.

Edit: Phonetically and in IPA, George is actually 3 syllables, for example (jo ur juh), but in accepted English, it is the same syllables as Slick or Strength, which is 1.
