Voiceless it cries,Wingless it flutters,Toothless it bites,Mouthless it mutters.

Cannot be seen or felt,Cannot be heard or smelt.Lies behind stars and under hills,Empty holes it fills.Comes first and follows after,Ends life and kills laughter.

A man runs into the woods. He runs and runs and runs. Knowing that the woods are twice as wide as he can run in an hour, and that he is a marathon runner, how far into the woods can he run?

An hour.

4 men sat down to play,
They played all night 'till break of day.
They played for gold and not for fun
With seperate scores for everyone.
When they came to square accounts,
They all had made quite fair ammounts.
Can you see the paradox explain,
If no one lost, how could all gain?
I'm an idiot. They were musicians. "Separate scores for everyone" was the key.

I can't remember for sure, but I think the third one (that "kills laughter") is time. I'm almost positive that's the big riddle in The Hobbit, where he pleads for more time, saying "Time! Time!" and accidentally guesses it.
