Standing upon a bridge, I looked straight down, and saw a boat full of people. And yet, as I looked, not a single person was on the boat.

The boat was full of people - dead people.

It was full meaning the holds are full but no person is on the boat as in on the deck.

However this is probably wrong as the logic is very close to a previously mentioned one.

Alternatly they could be demihumans where people is a generic term but person only refers to humans.

Well, that gets into details of how to count syllables, of course ;). But by most methods, yes.

Ok, I did not know that. (English is my third language). In danish (yes, that is what my native language is called) it would be 3 syllables.

Language differences can make it tough. I editted my original comment to include IPA standards (by which it is also 3 syllables).

What has roots nobody sees,Is taller than trees,Up, up it goes,And yet never grows?

Voiceless it cries,Wingless it flutters,Toothless it bites,Mouthless it mutters.

Cannot be seen or felt,Cannot be heard or smelt.Lies behind stars and under hills,Empty holes it fills.Comes first and follows after,Ends life and kills laughter.

What is each of these three things?

For the 4 men:
They were playing agains the house.

Sorry, but that is not right. Only four people were playing.

Here it is again

4 men sat down to play,
They played all night 'till break of day.
They played for gold and not for fun
With seperate scores for everyone.
When they came to square accounts,
They all had made quite fair ammounts.
Can you see the paradox explain,
If no one lost, how could all gain?

A man runs into the woods. He runs and runs and runs. Knowing that the woods are twice as wide as he can run in an hour, and that he is a marathon runner, how far into the woods can he run?
