London is Doomed: Mass Effect 3, Holiday '11

you're going to wait that long?

Not really ;)

Got a little time with it yesterday, and I must say I lost some sparkle from my ME2-memories. Coming straight from DA2 the feeling of "this is a shooter, not an RPG" were extremely strong. And I don't like shooters. So far the story isn't quite up to the original and Shadow Broker, so less story to overshadow the game mechanics. And being Solo most of the time (at least so far) gives it even more of a shooter feeling.

I really hope we get something a little less action-shooter like for ME3. If we end the series with a BioShock-like "strong story shooter" I will be very disappointed.

But it seems to build nicely towards a big final in ME3. More comments when I get the time to finish it, I guess :)

I know what you mean about it feeling too shooter-ish after DA2. I'm also not super fond of being on a solo mission, since I like the team dynamic.

Still, it's a fun diversion, and it's getting me primed for ME3 this Winter.

I like it, not terribly long and it is weird being alone the whole time. definitely like the story aspect though.

Also odd getting upgrades I'll never be able to use.

It's supposed to be able to be done post Illium and pre Endgame w/ just a few line changes (and gfx for a certain someone at the end). I think it works better post-end for story reasons.

I got through yesterday, and I find I'm rather pleased. Still not a big fan of the game play and rather certain I didn't get all the stuff available. When I don't like the combat doing it several times to see different outcomes is more than a little boring.

Over all I think the story suits much better after the original ending, and it seems to be a nice bridge to ME3. And I'll probably buy it on release and gripe (more) about it being a shooter (unless they go back towards a system where Shepard's skills are more important than the player's skills in combat).

Now, it's a long time to wait for Christmas. Thanks for DA2, Witcher 2 and Skyrim (and M&M Heroes 6) before that. It's a good year to be a gamer. Again :)
