Looking for a city setting

Seems like there was some city that was incorporated into Scarred Lands. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

That might be handy, as I have R&R and R&R II and like the feel of SL. If my gladiator campaign grows beyond the city, I might develop it into a full-fledged SL campaign.

Freeport, Bluffside and Genueave might work. I preffer my cities a little on the weird side so I'd like to second the city of Manifest as presented in Ghostwalk. Others you might consider include:

Splintered Peace (Atlas Games)
Seven Cities (Atlas Games)
Hollowfaust - City of Necromancers (Sword & Sorcery Studios)
Shelzar - City of Sin (Sword & Sorcery Studios)

Bluffside has an arena in the city, it is in the underground section and is not widely talked about, hope that helps.

How detailed is the arena? Bluffside is high up on my list, and this could be perfect. Once the PCs get higher level, I might have the arena go legit, and possibly move it outside. But this could be a great starting point.

Speaking of citys, has anybody heard any news regarding Windhaven?

This Map ( shrunk ) has really whetted my appetite:

Well, this is one product that I know I've been dying to see.

It'd be nice to have some type of official update.

Perhaps they'll be bought out like Skull & Bones was? Be a difficult thing though as Green Ronin probably wouldn't want another setting or Mystic Eye Games for that matter.

It is a typical place of interest for us so a half page or so with plot hooks etc...and tie in NPC's

Sorry I don't have much to add, expcet that because of this thread I have ordered Geanavue and Streets of Silver, hehe!

I would say that you may want to check out Corvis ("the City of Ghosts") although the fact that it is spread over a few different items right now kinda makes that difficult...It is set in The Iron Kingdoms by default.
As far as I know the only place to find any useful info on the City is in the Witchfire Trilogy, and they can be hard to find.
I think the most info is in the ifrst book. Corvis has a very large church that is a good focal point for the city although I am not aware of their being an arena. There is, however, a "seedy underbelly" and some uderground areas that you could fit one into.
I plan on running the Freeport Trilogy and the Witchfire Trilogy together eventualy. I just will need to work out the dynamics...
But now I have 2 more cities to add to my Campaign, Thanks! ;)
(I'll have to see if I can find Bluffside at my FLGS too)

Reading thru review looking for a city in which to place a glatiator campaign. Bluffside and Streets of Silver are looking good. Can anyone tell me about the Arena district in Parma?

Hopefully will make a trip to my FLGS soon, but I will be surprised if they have either of these in stock.

Joe,

If they don't have SoS, thrash them severely about the head and neck, wait, that's probably a bad idea... instead berate them in a fashion designed to add to their insecurities (but be polite about it). I'm posting the description from the book itself, though I suspect the author of that section (known as Donatello on these boards) may add some insights later.

"Arena District

Dominating the view of Parma Vecchio from any angle is the massive, fifty thousand capacity stadium, The Center for Martial Excellence, or simply known as The Arena. The cheer from the crowd can be heard from all throughout the district, and one can almost smell the blood and sweat from the combatants. The entire district reeks of conflict, with boarding houses for gladiatorial stables, headquarters for mercenary companies, armorers, weaponsmiths, and even the Parma Nationale barracks surrounding the Arena. Commerce in the district is based entirely on combat. Aside from weapons and armor, it is nearly impossible to find any products actually for sale anywhere near the Arena. Even places like taverns, inns and boarding houses
are a rarity, especially when compared to some of the other areas of town.

It is clear that Bellinger, goddess of war, dominates this corner of a city typically associated with Brashtamere, Artifice and Argon. Nonetheless, the Arena district is an integral part of Parma. Combine the presence of thousands of Bellingerian marines on Lagorio Naval base with the Brashtamerean aspect of entertainment, and the Games in the Arena are a natural answer."

It should be noted that Bellinger is the goddess of War, Brashtamere the god of Joy and Merriment, Artifice the god of Thieves and Merchants, and Argon is the god of Innovation. They can be replaced with gods of similar profiles in whatever campaign you are playing (though if you're looking for a pantheon the 12 gods of the Twin Crowns setting work really well...)

If you can't find a copy (it's selling really well, thankfully :) ) go to our website here. You can order it from us.

Hope this helps,
