Looking for a new(ish) [4e] Game!

First Post
Hey guys/gals,

I have been playing D&D for 21-ish years now, but have never once played in a PBP game, and I want to change that!

I know next to nothing about the process, but I will pick it up fast I'm sure and I can easily commit to at least 1 post a day (I'm here on ENW every day for the most part). I have a lot of experience with D&D primarily, but have played some others as well - though I only have D&D books/material.

4e is what I am really into right now and was hoping I could get in on a 4e game so there is that familiarity. I'm also looking for a game that takes place here at ENW since I am here a lot (maybe they all do for the most part, but I don't know). Finally, getting in on a NEW-ish game would be great - I am here a lot, but don't have a lot of time to read back over a large number of threads to catch up, etc.

So anyway, hopefully someone can help me out and has a game I can get in on out there so I can finally experience the whole PBP thing ;) If I don't get any responses, I will assume this is a very unorthodox post and will continue to keep an eye out for a game recruiting more players, hehe.

You are definetly in the right part bud. I'm no DM, or I would start up a game for you. From what I see, you can either wait around for a new 4e game to start (which may or may not take awhile) or you can try ur hand at the living 4e world.

I currently have a character there, it's kinda nice just because there is always something to do. It may be just hanging out shooting the bull at a tavern, but it's something you can post on. That said, the rules are alittle more rigid there.

Anyways, I'll check back in on ya to see if you found a game or not. If I hear of one opening up, I'll hollar. Take care and welcome to the stressful, abrupt, tedious, yet wonderful world of pbp.

OTS got the right of it: You can wait here and keep an eye out for new opprotunities or try one of the living worlds. We have two that are 4E:
- Living Eberron: Based in Eberron. Forum and Charter/Wiki
- Living 4E: Based in the Transitive Isle, a custom setting. Charter and Wiki

You may also want to look in the Living Worlds subforum. Both Living 4th edition (L4W) and Living Eberron in 4e (LEB) have a fairly regular flow of adventures starting up, and RP between adventures in a tavern setting.

EDIT: GAH! Ninja'd, by a whole minute...

Thanks for the responses!

I hit up some of those links... seems a bit daunting, but interesting - feeling like a total newb, so I think I'll have to take some time and really look around through all that stuff. I hear about those from time to time (LEB, etc) but had(have) no clue what it's all about. My only gaming experiences have been face to face, so this is all very new to me, but I figure I am online and here (at ENW) a lot, so why not give it a whirl, hehe.

Thanks again ;)

Lots of folks willing to help out on either forum. Just post a question in the discussion forum and that'll get you going.

It can be. Especially if you are not familiar with some of the code. It's okay though. Just take your time, most of the help you will need is already posted. If you need more help... Just ask :) We're a mean lot, ENworld forum users.

p.s. That last sentence is possibly a lie.

Hey weem,

I've seen some of your posts over in General and have seen some of the really cool ideas you've had. If you have any questions, as stonegod mentioned, feel free to ask. I'm around a lot during normal business hours (EST). The best bet (as other mentioned) is the Living worlds. The adventures there seem to have a fairly good survival rate.
