Looking for archane spell. Help appreciated

I really thought that there was an archane version of this spell:

Guidance of the Avatar
Divination
Level: Clr 2
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Duration: 1 minute or until discharged
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes
Your deity's chosen avatar imbues the subject with divine power. The creature gets a +20 competence bonus on a single skill check and must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it applies.


That gave the same +20 skill check bonus? Was I mistaken or just not looking in the right spot?

"Wieldskill" maybe? (from Magic of Faerun I think). :\

Very close. Wieldskill is a level 1 cleric spell that gives +10 to a known skill, or the ability to use an untrained skill at rank 0.

Still could have sworn there was a mage/sorc ver somewhere...

I assume you're not referring to Truestrike...?

Because I haven't heard of that exact spell. Do you know what level or what setting it would have been from?

Truestrike, as I am sure you know, adds to an attack.

I seem to recall it was a lower level (1-3rd) level wizard/sorc spell. It's possible I read the wieldskill spell a long time ago and just remembered it wrong. As I have been unable to refind it, I was asking for ideas or input here. Lot's of you have much more knowledge of the newer systems than I, though I would bet money on me for finding a rule in the original small book, hand packed, version of D&D... (yeah..I am that old. Shaddap)

As to what book? I only own the Faerun books and things like Magic of faerun and blood and tome (and the PH, should go without saying), so where I might have seen it is resonably small, all things concidered.

Moment of Prescience
Divination
Level: Luck 8, Sor/Wiz 8

Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 hour/level or until discharged

This spell grants you a powerful sixth sense in relation to yourself. Once during the spell’s duration, you may choose to use its effect. This spell grants you an insight bonus equal to your caster level (maximum +25) on any single attack roll, opposed ability or skill check, or saving throw. Alternatively, you can apply the insight bonus to your AC against a single attack (even if flatfooted). Activating the effect doesn’t take an action; you can even activate it on another character’s turn if needed. You must choose to use the moment of prescience before you make the roll it is to modify. Once used, the spell ends.

You can’t have more than one moment of prescience active on you at the same time.

and er no. Was under the rememberance it was a touch lower than 8th.
