Lord Ben, you've inspired me again.
Your system for handling the turns/rages is really good. I think we're going to incorporate it with a few changes.
Maybe it's the conceptualization in me, and maybe its the weakness of the fact that I see my character in my minds eye, but I think we're going to make this change.
I like the rage ability. I like to picture a warrior get a sudden rush of fury, adrenaline, etc, and still when the heads have been knocked or whatever, they are winded. I want to incorporate that into your ability to burn a turn attempt for a +2 to one of the stats that rage normally affects.
So I'm thinking that when this Prc burns a turn attempt, the bonus goes to str, con, or will, it lasts as long as the characters wisdom bonus plus 3. like a normal barbarian rage, albeit a wisdom influenced one due to it's "divine" nature. However, like the normal rage, this leaves a character winded, but not until the end of combat, just until a number of rounds = to the number raged have passed.
So basically, we have an ability that looks like this:
Divine Furor
Upon attaining 1st level, the Sentinel has gained enough insight into his faith that a number of times per day equal to his turn undead attempts he may tap into the fury of his diety to instead gain a +2 divine bonus to either STR, CON, or Will Save. These do not stack with each other or with normal barbarian rages. At 3rd level, the Sentinel may now activate 2 bonuses at once, although they still may not stack. (i.e. +2 Str, +2 Con, but not +4 Str) At 5th level, all three bonuses may be activated at once. At 7th level, the Sentinel gains the ability to use the bonuses as a reactive ability, but does not carry a duration. Consider this a divine insight. The character, in this case, is only winded until the next round. At 8th level this ability now begins to stack with rage, giving a maximum overall bonus equal to an improved rage. Activation is a free action. Each bonus activated costs a turn attempt for the day.
