Looking for help balancing a prestige class

Very good. A few minor adjustments I'd make.

I'd limit the Adrenaline rush to 1/day but still take up a turn attempt.

Yeah, I meant to include that. I think it would go up to 2/day at level 5 and 3/day at level 10.

Aura of Menace - have it affect only creatures/NPC's with less HD then the character.

Good point. I'll include it.

This is just an idea - not a balance issue. Rage of Faith - currently you have it add +2 str, con, and will saves until you make a hit in melee. Maybe change it to a 1rnd/total level divine bonus either Str, Con, or Will saves, activate as a free action on your turn. At 3rd you can use 2 at once, at 5th you can use 3 at once, at 7th you can activate as a reaction but only 1 roll instead of 1rnd/level.

I like this, as long as the effects don't stack with each other and don't stack with rages until 8th level. I may use this instead. We'll see which drunkadelic prefers.

Well, if they're divine bonus's they'd stack. But if he'd go Clr5/Bbn2 he'll never have more rages then 1/day. I don't see stacking as much of an issue. Granted he could get extra rage, but he already has 3 prereq feats. He'll probably want good physical stats because he's a fighter, also good wis for the cleric. If he has higher then 12 cha I'd be surprised which is only 4 turn attempts and 1 rage per day. At 1st level he could have +6 str, +4 con, +2 will while raging - not a big issue for burning up his only rage and 1/4th of his turn attempts. 3rd would be 2 turns for +6/+6 to str/con. Granted he can get extra turning and extra rage, but that delays things like improved critical even if he's a human. With 3 feats required he'd need to be 6th as non-human. So 9th and 12th for extra turn/rage. 15th is improved crit - long time to wait and he still doesn't have great cleave...

The battle rager says lots of clerics dual wield their axes - maybe take something away and grant TWF bonus feats. But that would redesign the class... :)

I like the divine bonus angle, not sure why.

The reason I don't want them to stack is because at level 8, they stack with a regular rage (producing a costly and short-lived improved rage effect). I don't want this class to be able to rage better than a barbarrian, even if it can't do it as often. Raging is what barbarrians do. I want this one to be distinct, but not to outshine the core class.

I don't however, have a problem with allowing the bonuses to stack with other divine bonuses; just not with each other.

Lord Ben, you've inspired me again.

Your system for handling the turns/rages is really good. I think we're going to incorporate it with a few changes.

Maybe it's the conceptualization in me, and maybe its the weakness of the fact that I see my character in my minds eye, but I think we're going to make this change.

I like the rage ability. I like to picture a warrior get a sudden rush of fury, adrenaline, etc, and still when the heads have been knocked or whatever, they are winded. I want to incorporate that into your ability to burn a turn attempt for a +2 to one of the stats that rage normally affects.

So I'm thinking that when this Prc burns a turn attempt, the bonus goes to str, con, or will, it lasts as long as the characters wisdom bonus plus 3. like a normal barbarian rage, albeit a wisdom influenced one due to it's "divine" nature. However, like the normal rage, this leaves a character winded, but not until the end of combat, just until a number of rounds = to the number raged have passed.

So basically, we have an ability that looks like this:

Divine Furor
Upon attaining 1st level, the Sentinel has gained enough insight into his faith that a number of times per day equal to his turn undead attempts he may tap into the fury of his diety to instead gain a +2 divine bonus to either STR, CON, or Will Save. These do not stack with each other or with normal barbarian rages. At 3rd level, the Sentinel may now activate 2 bonuses at once, although they still may not stack. (i.e. +2 Str, +2 Con, but not +4 Str) At 5th level, all three bonuses may be activated at once. At 7th level, the Sentinel gains the ability to use the bonuses as a reactive ability, but does not carry a duration. Consider this a divine insight. The character, in this case, is only winded until the next round. At 8th level this ability now begins to stack with rage, giving a maximum overall bonus equal to an improved rage. Activation is a free action. Each bonus activated costs a turn attempt for the day.
