Greetings!

It looks like you've done a great job on your DM's assistant program. While it's difficult to give meaningful criticism without actually running the program, the screen shots look really nice. It seems like you've written the program with a nice user interface. The total amount of content you've included is truly staggering. I don't think I would have had the stamina to enter in so many things from so many books.

That being said, since you have included so many things from so many books, I assume that's why you haven't distributed the program. I assume WotC would potentially be upset with you.

I wonder if there is any way you could legally sell the program if you demanded proof prior to sale that the buyer actually had all the source books used when making the program, and that you acknowledge that you aren't claiming ownership of the copyrighted material, but are simply selling some reorganization labor (kinda like hiring a typist to retype a book for you that was printed in a font you didn't like, you're not selling the book, they already own that, you're selling a packaged organization service for something they already own). I don't know if something like that would fly or not, perhaps it would be worth spending a hundred dollars to sit down with a copyright attorney for a 1 hour consultation.

Anyway, I'd be happy to look at the program more closely if I actually had the program, but if I were you I would be careful about distributing it. Violating a registered copyright carries with it a maximum $100k punitive fine in addition to actual damages, even if the actual damages are only $10.
