Looking forward to D20 Modern

I'm really looking forward to D20 Modern. I've always loved more modern rpgs and mixing in fantasy elements is always fun for me. But this new game also looks like you could play "Top Secret", "24", "X-Files", and other modern and near modern settings.

I'm already working on campaign ideas for an "everything normal but dark mystical secrets" setting for my group. A near modern setting that crosses something like the old X-Files with ancient eldritch mysteries and cutting edge science.

What are you looking forward to in D20 Modern?

I am very hopeful that I can run a Dark*Matter style game using d20 Modern. I am also pretty interested in the Shadowchasers stuff, maybe with a few mod's... I just really like the mix of modern and fantasy, etc.

I never played Dark Matter though I've heard many people say they loved the game. What was the premise to the setting?

I once heard Dark*Matter as described as "a world where every conspiracy that has ever been put forth is true, and you work against them". I know Wolfgang the guy who wrote it and he told me that he put in everything he could find BUT that the best part was that you could pick what you wanted and ignore the rest. It is a really cool Modern day game where Aliens, psychics, mad wizards, old gods, men-in-black and all kinds of other weirdness exists and fight "behind the scenes"… very X-Files… I really do like it.

AH Bothell… I live in West Seattle and it was all gray and rain this morning when I left for work over here in Redmond but here the clouds are all broken up and the sun is trying to peek out. Of course now it hiding behind the clouds
