Looting the looters (my group stay out!)

Svirfneblin are subtle, their powerful magic items would have "Nystul's Undetectable Aura" on them.

After all, when's the last time you've uses this spell?

My suggestions for the most part are't treasure. I think that the ghouls would also secret away anything that could be bad for them. So onward...

In the treasure vault the come upon a wall that is heavily ehcanted and inscribed. Inside the first layer is a chained angel. (I saw a picture of this some where and thought it was cool. Chains around ankles and wrists not allowing it to touch the ground). Releasign the angel allows sets somthing else free. What the ghouls were keeping locked up is one of their own experiments gone wrong. I was thinking a death knight, well just because they're cool. This death knight can similarly speak through undead like the puppetmaster but his presence leaves a taint. It courupes those that contact his mind or that he contacts and they're soon bent to his will. A back story could be that their was a coup and he was defeated. The white kingdom didn't have the power to destroy him but were able to inprision him.
That's assuming that you want to continue with things at this point.

I think also that they would hide away anything with healing powers. I think that it might be cool to have a sword that does healing damage. It does not harm living things (actually it heals 2d8 or so) and is feared for it's power in by the undead.

Hostages kept in stasis.

I haven't read the other responses, just read your first post and I'm goin' for it.

Here we go:

A Drow pallanquin made of volcanic glass with ivory inlay with sufficient anti-scry magics upon it.

A kroa-tou (or however you spell it) intricate map, written on vellum made from whale-hide that details the inner stomaches of the Leviathan.

A monument of the Giant King, put wherever his armies conquered that details his ancestry from his father to the First Giant.

A skull with a Drow slave stud embedded into it with the Drow word for loyal carbed into the scalp.

A Drow tapestry glamoured to look like a starry moonless night.

A bronze Elvish blade, ancient. If studied sufficiently it will prove to be the first of the Elves to decide to split from his race and venture underground. He/she? broke his/her own blade in an Elvish Parliament in defiance of a wrong that has faded into myth and legend, now unknown. Perhaps if it was discovered it could bond the lost civilizations...nah.

Hope this has helped. Have fun.

Cool topic.

So, this thread was an incredible success. I gave the group three pages of art, one of weapons and two of books. Hooray!

Ironically enough, they were most interested in the block of moldy cheese radiating strong conjuration and evocation magic (nystul's aura, of course.) They're dying to find out what it does. :D

Here's a sample piece of art they found that I actually came up with on my own:

Massive unfinished sculpture formed of gold, silver, copper and platinum; it appears that coins have been melted in a smelter and poured over dozens of posing victims in an attempt to recreate a battle scene. Their (undead?) muffled screams and groans can still be heard from underneath the hardened and shaped precious metal.

Eewww. That's good. :)

I'm not sure if you liked any of my specific ideas. But even if you didn't, I hope I provided some inspiration for someone. :)

Curious? They kept the aboleth amulet, giving it to Malachite for the next time he drowns. They considered giving the silver illithid skull to someone as a gag birthday gift, decided against it, and destroyed it instead.

Oh wow. Thanks! I'm glad they liked my ideas to some degree. Decided to destroy the skull eh? Probably for the best, it wasn't exactly the happiest piece of treasure out there. :)

*Walks like an Egyptian* That's right! That's right! I'm bad! I'm bad!
