"Lord of Light" RPG?

Have you folks ever heard of an RPG set in the world of Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light? I'd like to write up some d20 rules for the setting, but if someone else has done it already there's no sense duplicating effort.

Not to my knowledge.

spirit fire elemental rakshasas would be fun to see done out.

Each of the "gods" has one supernatural power that remains throughout each incarnation so that would be interesting to see as well as the assassin death bath natural armor process.

My suggestion for this would be to try Nobilis, although it is not a D20 game. It would capture the godly aspects of the characters better than most other games. :)

Sadly I'm not aware of one but it would be really, really, really cool if it existed.

nobilis and Amber are similar thematically and power-level wise, and Nobilis is one of my favorite game books ever made, and while they don't line up exactly you could almost certainly tweak them to fit, should you desire to do so.

Still, I have visions of a hradcover Lords of Lights RPG in my head and it is beautiful. The world it self is very cool, has a nice amount of depth, and the comb of sci-fi with hindu mythology is something that still hasn't really been repeated. And I'm sure you could run many fine campaigns in it without ever playing as the Gods themselves.

for the Lord of Light novice

So, I've had a copy of LoL sitting on my shelf for several years but haven't read it yet. Is it a stand-alone piece of fiction, or a series like the Chronicles of Amber?

It's a very good piece of stand alone fiction. :)
Seriously, I enjoyed it a lot, and each time I re-read it I pick up on something new.

...and if your heart is set on doing it in d20, you could always swipe the rules from Mutants and Masterminds.

nobilis is a very pretty book but i have no idea how it's supposed to be played ;)
