Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

[sblock=Tomalak / Minharath]
Well not sure if the DM counts here, but I am loving the contrast between Minharath and the more "primal" characters. It is nice to see a character who isn't instantly "bff's" with everyone in his group. A character such as your; a pacifist cleric who strives to preserve life, should NOT immediately be buddy-buddy with a bunch of blood thirsty hooligans.

I am sure that you can see as well as I can the gold mine of RP opportunity here, so fell free to post as much as you would like regarding Minharaths inner turmoil now that he has witnessed his recent business associates brutally 'murder' half a dozen men. It should be fun!

And you are bang on regarding the 'normal band of adventures'. In reality they are some of the biggest offenders of both moral codes and man-made laws, but time and again they are the 'hero's'. I suppose it has a bit to do with our modern viewpoint. Rewind back 1000 years and I am sure it was fine to slaughter a village of people because they were pagans or were in some way either inferior to you or were some sort of threat.

Anyway have fun with Minharath, and hopefully you can drag some of the other players into some exciting (and tense) RPing

[SBLOCK=OOC]Hero? Gloom is all but a hero. He is a desperate soul who has been his whole Tribe slaughter and by the strange sense of Lauto humor, he was the only survivor. He first thought to kill himself, but he decides to die in combat like his tribe-mates. He is adventuring to do some good deed in memory of his tribe, so he tells himself, but what he really want is to die. That's why he is so reckless.

Also, for a reason unknown to him, Lauto travel by his side, speak to him. Probably a believer of Lauto would think that's true. After all, he is a Paladin. But I plan to make him act like a mad mind by time. For example, he would really have killed Wendel if Raj wouldn't have talked after his threatening and put it on the back of Lauto.

I still need to roleplay him more to define more his personality, but he is really not a hero or a nice guy.

By the way, I don't want him to die ;) [/SBLOCK]

[sblock=in Minharath's brain]And so Lauto calls unto his own, Minharath thinks as he sees Gloom fall. How did I come to be here with these madmen? Taking a step back, Minharath makes to leave, but then a thought occurs to him. Blood already stains this floor. How much blood? How much more before the end of the night? If I heal them, will they not rise to slaughter afresh? And that is the thought that spurs Minharath to action. Fool! Prideful man! It is not yours to make these decisions! Life seeps away as you stand there, and you do not act? NO![/sblock]
Taking a step backwards and beginning to turn, Minharath takes a last glance at the fallen paladin. Then something seems to change his mind, and he turns and moves into the room, walking briskly but staying quiet, around a large stack of crates at the edge of the warehouse.
[sblock=Map Clarification]Are the squares in G18 and G19 blocked?
[sblock=Actions, presuming blocked]Move to G25, ready Healing Word (2d6+8+Surge) for the first person on 'our' side that drops to 0hp or below.[/sblock]
[sblock=Actions, presuming clear]Move to G25, Run to G18, cast Healing Word on Gloom, bringing him to 23 hit points.[/sblock][/sblock]

Frustrated by his opponent's successful avoidance, Thorn spins his weapon about, shifting to an overhead grip and bringing the shaft down in a single powerful blow. Unprepared for this change of tactics, the human is impaled, the light fading from his eyes even as Thorn leaps over the corpse, running headlong toward where a fallen companion lay at the mercy of the villains.
[sblock=Thorn, actions]Sure Strike vs. last minion, AC15 1d20+9=18 Success
Run to K15[/sblock]

[sblock=Minharath & G18 / G19]
Both those spaces are difficult terrain and require an athletics check (DC 10) to move through.

Tomalak, I will use your action posted above unless you would like to do something different.

That just leaves Zharne to act for round 3 then...

[sblock=OOC] so did Minharath heal Gloom or not? also I think that readying an action use healing word when somebody drops isn't very useful when the rest of the party is out of range for healing word IMHO. I suggest continue moving forward instead[/sblock]

Well unless Tomalak wants to try something different in regards to the rough terrain in G18 & G19, Minharath will Move to G25, ready Healing Word (2d6+8+Surge) for the first person on 'our' side that drops to 0hp or below.

That means that Gloom is NOT healed this round, but Minharath is holding an action to heal the first ally that drops below 0 hit points within range of the spell from his position at G25. Healing word is a close burst 5, so this will only apply if an ally falls below 0 hit points within 5 squares of G25.
