Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

"Here, they tells the same nonsense than you, but I have seen what the gods do. I judge someone by his action not his words. The gods let my tribe getting killed without doing anything for them. For you, you are a coward, you stayed half the time away from the last fight whining while everyone was getting attack. Also, you should stop taking on me, I killed two men and a dog tonight, all in fair fight. Count the bodies since the start of the night, I'm not worst then anyone else here.

Now, stop wasting time with your girlish complains and get that dwarf out of my sight or I'll handle the matter myself."

[SBLOCK=OOC]I start to really like to play Gloom. My other shifter in LEB, River, is a pacifist healer like Minharath, with the same conviction, just blasé of seeing people getting killed as he has been an healer during the Last War. Maybe Minharath in a few adventure. A nice contrast.[/SBLOCK]

Thorn looks disinterested in the squabbles of man & gods. Instead, his interests lie in the fight they face down the newly revealed stairwell. He creeps closer to the barrel/door, readying his spear in case someone below comes up the stairs.

"I'm ready to rush in when everyone is ready." He says with a whispered growl.

Bowing stiffly, Minharath responds "As you wish." He turns to the dwarf, helps him to his feat, and marches him out to the alleyway.

Gloom walk back to the secret door. He takes a deep breath before telling to Thorn. "If you don't mind, I'll go first again. Let's just wait for Minharath to come back."

Thorn nods his head at Gloom, and with the lift of his spear he indicates to the other shifter that he can go down the stairs first*.
Once Minharath returns and the others assemble behind him, Thorn will open the barrel/door.

[sblock=*question for DM] How wide are the stairs going down? Can two people go down abreast?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC question for all]
To everyone: I'm a little lazy to go back through 22 pages of posts - besides the mysterous box, does anyone remember if Ogglebottom wanted us to capture any of these bandits?
Do we think there will be any reward (either from Ogglebottom or the authorities)?
If so, does the DM allow the Player's Handbook option (pg.295) for us to knock out the target instead of killing it?
This would also settle the argument between Gloom & Minharath, as we could BOTH defeat our enemies (for a profit) AND prevent the loss of life.

[sblock=ooc]All Lord Ogglebottom wants is his parcel back, along with knowledge of who is holding it. And you are allowed to decide between killing a target and knocking it unconscious when reducing it to 0 hp or fewer -- we mostly did the knocking-unconscious bit in the first combat. This second one.....not so much.[/sblock]

[sblock=subduing vs killing]
Yes the option is always there. pg 295 of the PHB states that the character has the choice to knock unconscious rather than kill when he reduces a foe to 0 or less hit points. If it was so desired, you could all just state that you are always using this option unless otherwise stated. Knocking foes out could be the norm if you so desired. I will leave it up to you to let me know.

[sblock=Thorn's option]
By default, Thorn will knock out all his foes.
