Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

The orc and human both look completely shocked as you confront them bluntly regarding Lord Ogglebottoms property. A few moments pass by and then a look of realization appears on the orcs face.

He gets up out of the chair and makes his way into the large open room and calls out "Hey yous guys, der is a bunch of guys here to get Ogglebottoms box. Lets give it to 'em OK". He turns back to regard the group with a dumb smile on his face. "OK wes just gotta find da box and then yous gonna get it......", his dumb smile slowly creeping into a more vicious, predatory smile while his hand drops down to his handaxe on his belt.

The human remains seated, the dumbfounded look not leaving his face..

The Orc shifts from D12 to D13 and then moves to G14.

Alright I have rolled initiative, but that does not necessarily mean it's combat time - that's for you to decide as Thorn, Zharne and Gellan are up next - then the 'bad guys' - and then everyone can act.

It's your move - What will you do?

Thorn makes his way forward. "We don't want any trouble. We just want the box." He snarls and grips his spear, mocking the orc by mimicking his movements.

"I suggest you comply with their demands, gentlemen. To much blood stains this night already. Unrestrained by reasonable sensibilities my companions may be, but there is no denying their skill in butchery. For your own sakes, lay down your arms. Lauto has enough new tenants this day." Minharath's quiet voice manages to carry despite the lack of volume.

"Actually, he is interested in the man's soul, but not too much by the orc. He also tells there is another one his time have come here, but I didn't saw him yet."

Thorn makes his way forward. "We don't want any trouble. We just want the box." He snarls and grips his spear, mocking the orc by mimicking his movements. Thorn can now see more of the large room. There are multiple braziers around the room providing ample light, and it appears that not only is this area used for storage, but there are also a number of cots along the far wall. Next to the cots and almost directly opposite of where you are now there is a large opening in the wall leading into an un-light cave beyond.

The humans you can see all put down the goods they were carrying and make their way to the Orc, drawing weapons on the way. From around the stack of crates a group of goblins appear, also wielding weapons, and snarls on their faces.

Down the long hall you can hear someone banging on a wooden object, then a second time, and then a third. Thorn, Gloom and Gellan can then see a goblin appear from around the corner and begin banging on the door at the end of the hall.

The seated human in front of Gloom slowly lets his arm drop to the side of the chair closer to the weapon leaning there.

The Orc looks at Thorn with a confident look on his face and he shrugs his shoulders. “Looks like we not find da box. Maybe YOU leave now eh?”

A bunch of humans and goblins come into view.

I know that I said the Zharne was up before the bad guys, but I had a chance to post so I did (work and RL has been nuts lately). When Zharne posts can either just make his actions take place before the bad guys, or say that he delayed till after. It really makes no difference unless he wanted to launch a pre-emptive strike, since you all can act again.

Sorry for any late replies - my thread subscription is no longer notifying me of new posts...???[/sblock]

Seeing the enemy prepare for battle, Thorn snaps his longspear forward into one of the advancing humans. At just that moment, the flames from the braziers flicker and dancing shadows obscure the result of his attack.

[sblock=mechanics]
I think DMDan left out the stats for the enemy in his last post, so I'll just give you my rolls. Please fill in the results.
No move, attacking Human R2 in square F-14 using the reach of the longspear
Standard Sure Strike. 1d20+9 (vs. AC)=20
Possible damage: 1d10 (damage)=10
