That sounds about right...and one of the reasons I really don't like either of them. I've known people, in real life, who resemble both these characters...and I didn't like seeing it, then.
It's clear that folks are lining up to not trust Locke...the question is, are they right or not. I personally think that Locke is being built up as someone who appears to be a bad guy, but really isn't. But at the same time, we still don't know what Locke thinks of the island...and it's clear that Locke thinks the island is, in some fashion, an entity. The question then becomes, is the island manipulating Locke? If so, is Locke operating under a false understanding of how things work....that is to say, he's a good guy, but he's been misled and is causing problems for the survivors? When Lockes says the rest of the survivors 'aren't ready' for the knowledge of the hatch....why?
