Lost 2-21-97

Another lackluster episode for me. I don't even care about the mysteries getting resolved anymore, just make the show entertaining, which it is obviously not. They were suppose to reveal the fate of the children this episode, among other things, but did not. YOu don't need to promise us mysteries will be revealed if you're just going to wait until the last five minutes and try to cram it all in some cryptic phrase.

There's two shows that are being ruined by the over jack complex. 24 and Lost.

Why in the world was Kate and Sawyer so out of character last night. Kate seemed so smart last week, and now she's in the middle of the ocean, after getting away, and saying lets go back on our not more than a raft boat.

Where is Jin and :insert other cast members:. Talk about loss. At the end of last season, wasn't there some people in a remote frozen place and found something odd., where the heck are they at.

If you guys stopped watching the show, you would have to find something else to bitch about.

I used to feel this way about some of the naysayers that chime in on these threads. Now that I seem to be becoming one of those critics, my feelings have changed a bit.

I'm bitching about the show because I care about it. I've invested a lot of my time in it and enjoyed that time spent, for the most part. Unlike Hand of Evil, I haven't been watching "Heroes" and don't have that show to fall back on. And I'm bitching because ABC's promos promised that three big mysteries would be revealed in last night's episode, and I don't think they came close to delivering.

So yeah, if us complainers stopped watching the show, we would have to find something else to bitch about. On the flipside of that same coin, however, if Lost keeps bleeding 2 million viewers per episode, you're not going to have the show to watch for much longer either.

This is how I feel as well. It's really a shame what they've done to this show.

In all seriousness, the Jack/Bai Ling flashback was the only redeeming quality of this episode. The background was cool (although we never really know why Jack went there) but again I ask myself if it was in the show's best interest to spend that much time on a flashback. I would say no, it wasn't. I felt the same about Desmond's background last week.

Other than that, we had confusing dialogue and actions froms Sawyer and Kate, weird scenes with the other passengers that got kidnapped, and quite possibly the introduction of the worst Other yet - Isabelle. Her character was absolutely awful and utterly annoying as soon as she came on screen.

unfortunately.... the local station that carries ABC here has equipment problems and has been off the air. So I missed Lost. Anyone care to summarize it for me?

Heh, I haven't even seen the episode yet, I just wanted to point out the error in the date in the snarkiest way possible. :)

I've liked Season 3 a lot more than Season 2, so far. There have been a couple of clunkers, but overall it's a vast improvement.

Now, something like BSG I'm more upset with, because they keep writing these filler episodes that are god awful. At least Lost's filler is entertaining a good portion of the time.

I have to agree with this. Hopefully with the excellent cast that has been ignored this season coming back into play there will be a pickup in quality.

Note: ABC has been replaying the prior week show in the 9o'clock slot, so you can check it out next week.

Wow. That was... boring. The tattoo flashback wasn't even the least bit interesting. (Bai Ling sure was, though.) The Others, and any related storyline, continue to suck.

Is it just me, or are the writers trying to make Juliette into a sympathetic character and trying to get the audience to like her? (They're failing miserably, in any case. I keep hoping something bad happens to her.)

What else was revealed?

That the Others DO live on the main island and must to a lot of communiting back and forth to get to the little island with it's The Prisner set up. That Ethan was the main surgeon for the Others. That the Others are pretty adept at brainwashing. That the kisnapped Losties (the stewardess and the children) are alive. That Jack is turning a corner and fighting to be more than a tool, pawn or prisner. That Bia Ling does not know bobbies are supposed to be private things... Well, OK, that is a matter of public record.
