Great episode, really enjoyed it.

My girlfriend caught Hurley on the TV too. (I missed it) Apparently it was just cameras following him getting into a car and driving. Since they were in Korea, I think that does put some credence into the Hurley=Gamer theory, but not rpg'er. Korea is BIG into computer gaming, so I can totally see Hurley there in a StarCraft PC gaming tournament or something.

Like Lhorgrim, I initially thought of Walt starting the fire, but fell hook line and sinker for Lockes speech. Doh!

Next weeks episode looks promising. I've heard in several interviews with cast members they've all mentioned Hurleys episode as their personal favorites.

I missed it. I'm gonna have to have you elaborate!

The first time that Jin went to that bureaucrat's house, when the man welcomed him in, they walked past the couch that the little girl was sitting on, watching TV. As Jin walked past, it showed a Korean news broadcast or something...there was some text, but it obviously wasn't in English, and the sound was in the background, so we couldn't hear it....but it was "footage", close-up, of Hurley, and it looked like he was getting into the driver's seat of a car.

That piqued my interest. What is it about him that's important? Why was he in the news?

Jin...was more interesting than I thought. This is the first time in a while where I was really enjoying the flashback plot. I just hope he doesn't die anytime soon, Daniel Dae Kim needs steady work, darn it all.

I agree- I really like his character now. I was half expecting him to turn out to be an English-speaker as well, and I'm glad that the writers didn't go that route.

I was hoping he'd take Sun up on her offer to start over, but I think his realization must have been that there was too much history to just brush it away- aside from the business with her father, and her lies about learning English and planning to leave him, he'd been lying to her for far longer about his father. At the same time, by helping out with Michael on the raft, I think he's trying to make himself a better man than he'd become. Kind of ironic after Locke's speech to Shannon about "starting a new life" that Jin seems to want to (IMO) make up for his past without ignoring it.

Speaking of which, it seems to me that the "shaman" Locke may not exactly be comfortable in the role which he seems to have fallen into. Seems like he only gives his sage advice when people start bringing him into their business- when Shannon confronts him about Boone, when Charlie confronts him about the drugs, etc. For all that he comes across as the wise man on the mount, I get an undercurrent of him being uneasy with interacting with others- which makes sense, given his past (he wasn't much of a "real people" person). I get the feeling he may even be a little contemptuous of others when he is "forced" to bring them to a realization- after all, he's a self-made man on this island; he has turned himself into the person he has always wanted to be, so why should he force feed growth to others who can't help themselves?

Of course, he doesn't have this attitude with Walt, but I think that he feels more comfortable with the kid than with the adults.

Anyway, this was a really good episode. I especially loved the part with Jin and his father. Very cool scene.

What the F's the deal with the hatch, though?

Jin is starting over again too and I think he is giving Sun the same chance, I do think they will find each other but that will take time.

Locke, mmmm, us vs them speech, and seems to know more than anyone else and helping each person find a path.

Hurley is the man!

Sawyer, he is such a likeable ass, best lines this week were his.

Lost reminds me of a old joke: Guy is shipped wreaked on an island, everyday he watches the sea for a boat and after a few weeks he sees a beautiful woman come swimming to shore. He sees her and runs to her asking 'where did you come from?' The woman looks at the man and says, 'the resort on the other side of the island'.

I think he is a game show winner! It was quick and caught me by surprise.

Could be the explanation behind the "You'll get it" line to Walt about the money he bet on backgammon.

I loved Hurley's little cameo in the television in the flashback. Makes him more interesting, that he was on Korean News or a TV show or something.

I sat up in my chair for that one. I'm interested now, they really haven't done a flashback for him yet have they?
