I sat up in my chair for that one. I'm interested now, they really haven't done a flashback for him yet have they?
Nope, not yet and rumors are running wild, with cast members saying it was a lot of fun to film his.

Hurley's flashback is next episode.

And look at all the stuff on the preview. Doesn't look like it was such a good idea to go looking for Crazy French Chick, was it?

Liked this episode a lot. I suspected Jin wasn't as "bad" as he was made out to be, and I'm glad I was right - I like him now a whole lot more.

Since they were in Korea, I think that does put some credence into the Hurley=Gamer theory, but not rpg'er. Korea is BIG into computer gaming, so I can totally see Hurley there in a StarCraft PC gaming tournament or something.
Yep, that's what I've been expecting ever since he gave his "warrior" comment, and in my mind, it seems to be confirmed with his brief appearance on Korean TV.

I haven't been surprised by Lost in a little while now (such as Walt burning the raft), but I don't really need to be - I'm happy with the show overall.

And I concur with others here - what about the friggin' hatch?

d20dwarf was surfing the ABC boards and someone who speaks korean translated the tv subtitles into Hurley winning the lottery, which explains why he was promising so much money to Walt ;)
The first thing I said when I saw the boat on fire was that Walt did it. Of course Wil thought I was crazy, but it turned out I was right... I don't know why that was my first hunch.
The development for Jin and Sun should be a lot more interesting now that they are going their separate ways, I bet we will see a lot more interaction with them and the other cast members.
I can't wait to see Hurley's story.
Next week looks like it is going to be really good.

I kinda thought Walt burning the boat on purpose was lame - my wife thought it was him, but because of his "thoughts-become-reality-so-the-bird-flies-into-the-door" thing. I wasn't sure who it was, but was guessing Locke.

Ending was great :D

I was thinking it was Locke who burned it but after his speech I was fairly certain he simply knew it was one of his "people" who did it and was covering while still making a point. Very good ep. I liked the 'new life' theme because it's true. It should be obvious by now that they aren't getting off any time soon and something is out there that has to be dealt with.

It's very interesting to see Locke working his mojo on anyone he can. It's also interesting to see Jack's reactions to all the madness. Those 2 having the loudest voices of reason is a cool counter-point. Yeah, they both have an agenda but only Locke knows what's actually going on.

I think Walt has an idea and Hurley also seems at home on the island, he seems to go out of his way to also help people, maybe not like Locke but in the background.

I agree- I really like his character now. I was half expecting him to turn out to be an English-speaker as well, and I'm glad that the writers didn't go that route.

I am not yet (entirely!) convinced that he isn't an english speaker...

why? At the end of this episode, when he is not talking to Sun and is packing to leave the cave, Sun is getting angry and exclaims - in english - that she was going to leave him and explains how she changed her mind.

She _could_ have been doing that to relieve her concious knowing that he couldn't understand.

But, also, given the fact that he stopped and *let her finish her english speaking*, made me think that he _may_ have understood. Because if he didn't understand, it seems like he may have instead kept on walking letting her continue her "ramble" in a language that was causing their fight in the first place.

It's possible that he does understand some english and can emulate or speak a few words if he really tries. He did say, "boat." ;)

...or ship. I'm really not sure.

PS - Sun was really rockin' that bikini. Someone had to say it.
