Without thinking, Lorn responded quickly as the swarm of lizards brought the warforged the ground, blanketing the area in arcane fire. Even as he recovered from the reflexive action he began to take stock of the new threat that had appeared. Remembering the strange gem they had found on the ship, Lorn pulled on its mystical power, bringing spent magic back to his mind. Energized he leapt into action, raising his staff the disappating shadows of his spell began to coalesce once more snaking across the ground toward the new quarry, umbral tendrils reaching up to grasp their scaly hides. Lorn had been inspired the the Hesh's own bravery leaping into the field of writhing shadows risking an overload of power he called on more arcane energy than was safe, barely able to control it he unleashed another blast of power at one of the large lizards. His muscles trembling from effort, common sense began to reassert itself in his brain, stumbling out of the treeline he made to get farther away from the acid spitting creatures.

Without hardly thinking Lorn blankets the lizards in fire, they screech as most of their number are burnt to a crisp, the rest run for cover of the jungle, the advantage of numbers they had is now gone.

Drawing from Hesh's bravery, Lorn calls upon the jewel's magic and unleashes a blast of grasping darkness at the drakes. One manages to avoid the shadows, but the other is injured and hisses at it's pain. Bolstered by at least the partial success, the wizard raises his staff and a missle of force is conjured and flies by the drake.

The remaining goblin, seeing most of it's allies down retreats back toward the cave, pulling a javelin from it's back. It hurls the weapon at the now awake and deadly shifter. It's nerves get the best of it though, and the weapon flies over the shifter's shoulder.

Realizing that the drakes are the more serious threat at the moment, Stellan moves swiftly forward even as he welcomes the feral element of his own heritage into his conscious mind. With a mighty swing of his axe he channels the strength of the dirt beneath his feet to protect him from attacks.

Thormir confidently moves forwards as its shape blurs from some kind of magical heat, or distortion, and clutches his hand with his arm extended in the direction of one of the drakes. A fiery claw ravages the creature, burning it and crushing it. Encouraged by the sight, the Dwarf immediately calls his power back into his hand, and releases a mighty blast of energy.

Stellan, with his feral blood pounding through him, bounds over to the closest of the reptiles. The grasses nearby lean in towards the creature, as if ready to grasp the creature. Stellan swings his battleaxe in an overhand strike. It misses the lizards head, but inflicts a severe wound in it's upper limb.

Get up you stoney bucket! The warlord calls, even through the harshness of his words, the 'forged sees how he could help. Hesh moves and swings his flail high at the creature's head, but several of the links of his weapon suddenly loosen and expand, and the head of the flail hits the tree instead of the goblin's head.

Xandren listens obediently to Hesh and quickly stands, charging towards the goblin. Even with the length of his blade, his strike is expertly aimed and strikes the goblin hard in the shoulder, drawing blood that sprays the tree.

Thormir moves forward, as the air shimmers around him concealing his form. A quick grasping gesture and his arcane power grabs the overgrown lizard in a hand of fire. Several ribs crack, as the hand drags the creature along the ground before disappating in a puff of smoke. Thormir seeing the creature still standing strikes out once again this time with a ray of eldritch energy. The creature, badly hurt, still is able to barely dodge the attack.

[sblock=Ata]I need the spot where you slide the spitter.[/sblock]

The creatures make that strange sound again in the back of their throat spitting spitting at Thormir, but not before stepping away from the dangerous shifter. Vines grab at that one, once again pulling it next to Stellan, and hindering it's movement. Blobs of acid emerge from the snouts of the drakes. One hits Thormir right in the chest, burning right to the bone. The second, from the drake that Thormir hurt with his magic, it's aim is true, and strikes the warlock square in the face, melting flesh. The dwarf falls to the ground motionless, the liquid flesh pooling around his head.

OOC: Its go time!

Seeing Thormir go down, Hesh yells out loudly as if in slow motion, NOOOOOO! Little MAAAAAAN! Recklessly, he runs away from the goblin, past Stellan and the first drake, and then into the shadows to the drake that dropped his friend. With a crazed look, he smashes at the creature, but smashes at the dirt. Even though others may have lashed at him, and shadows now tear into him, he smiles as he sees the look in Thormir's eye at his crazed dash.[sblock=Cool Action]Fearless Rescue to the rescue! Its triggered by Thormir dropping. Hesh moves to T17 through Stellen's square but around the shadows until the last square. For every OA he provokes (whether they take it or not, I think, that seems to be the wording), Thormir gains a +1d6 to healing including his Healing Surge. Thus, I believe he gets 2d6+HS (W and D1 get an OA). Hesh's attack misses (Nat 1 :(), but the healing happens regardless.[/sblock]

ooc: DAMN! uhmm... no slide from diabolic grasp. But...DAMN!

Thormir, half-unconscious, sees Hesh's reckless run and hears the new-found friend calling him. Inspired, he opens his eyes fully, and grunting, he pushes himself up on his arm: Can't stay down like that...
