And good on Locke to push that dumbass Other into the device to see if it still works - Mrs. Arnwyn and I both said the same thing (test it on the Other to see if it's still functioning!) just before he did it. Awesome! It would be particularly nice in the next episode if Locke (and Sayid, and Kate, and the Frenchwoman) go on a rampage and wipe out a bunch of the Others, but that's only wishful thinking on my part.

You should write for the show. Lots of action. :)

Of course, they'll probably never put two and two together. Have they ever showed Jack to be carrying around a photo of his father? Claire didn't get his name, so without a photo, and the coincidence of her seeing it, there's no way they'll ever realize.
Don't forget that Jack's father is also on the island - sure, he's dead and lying in a casket, but he was on the plane too.

for a while, I had a horrible idea that Desmond was actually seeing Claire dying... all those things he 'foresaw' about Charlie dying could have killed Claire instead.... luckily, looks like I was wrong. I'd hate to lose either character, but if I had to choose, I'd save the pretty one...

Sacrificing the Other to see if there was a trap was certainly better than sacrificing someone important - and the Other certainly wasn't exactly helping them. They certainly never would have gotten him over the fence anyway. It was an intelligent move.
Man, surprising to see how many people think murdering a helpless prisoner is something to be commended just because it was the practical thing to do. Hope those kind of folks never find themselves in a position of power of others.

Locke's murder was about the time Kate and Sayid should've kicked Locke's ass and left him behind. They're quite aware by that whatever his agenda is, it runs contrary to theirs.

As to John playing football with the Others, it may be brainwashing or a ruse, but I'm surprised anyone who watches the show thinks it absolutely must be one of those things. One of the things that Lost does is well demonstrating how quickly one person's perception of another can change. We may very well be treated to a flashback of Jack going through some heartwarming little bonding experience.

Or, they just strapped his ass into a chair and fried his brain. One or the other. ;)

The Dharma Djinn did tell the group that the fence wasn't working. Meaning he either wanted to go through it first and die, or he wanted them to go through it first and die. Either way, seems like he got what was coming to him.

My issue with the scene was that, really, we were never told it was a weapon. The whole thing looked like an alarm system, which makes little sense to trip intentionally.

So, not only is Claire beautiful, she's by far the smartest of the Losties. I love Claire.

I actually liked last week's episode. Claire had a good idea with the birds. And it's nice that she's standing by Charlie.

Uggh. Way more credit than is due. She's not a very atrractive or smart person from where I sit.

I find her unattractive specifically because she clearly needs a ton of help and yet she shuts out anyone who steps up to say they give a damn. The flashbacks in this episode demonstrated that ugly characteristic perfectly. First she gets in an accident with her mom while telling her "I hate you! I wish you were dead!" Then later, her father steps in, and it's a big "eff you" to him too. Think about all the people out there in the world who desperately wish someone--anyone--would show an interest in them. She takes a lot for granted.

I wonder what stage her and Charlie's relationship is really at? This is the third time she's summarily rejected Charlie and told him stay away from her and Aaron. Is she going to do that every time she gets mad at him? Does she love him at all?

1. "Patch" claimed that the security system was not working. Pushing him into it was not murder, it was calling his bluff. If nothing happend, fine - but if he fried, it was what he had coming for trying to get someone else killed by walking into a trap.

2. I have no problem with Jack's behavior - in fact, I suspect I'm going to have a much bigger problem with the way Locke, Sayid and Kate will end up freaking out over it out of proportion to what actually happened, and only end up making things worse.

He made a deal - he agreed to take care of Ben while he's recovering in exchange for the woman's life. He's not going to try to escape until he's done. So what's he supposed to do, sit around and brood all by himself while he's not working? What's that going to accomplish? I really don't think he switched sides just because he's allowed himself to relax enough to toss around a football.
