Lost "Par Avion" 3/14/07

1. "Patch" claimed that the security system was not working. Pushing him into it was not murder, it was calling his bluff. If nothing happend, fine - but if he fried, it was what he had coming for trying to get someone else killed by walking into a trap.

Locke thinks everything is a trap and he is often right but he is just as dangerous for both sides to have around.

2. I have no problem with Jack's behavior - in fact, I suspect I'm going to have a much bigger problem with the way Locke, Sayid and Kate will end up freaking out over it out of proportion to what actually happened, and only end up making things worse.

He made a deal - he agreed to take care of Ben while he's recovering in exchange for the woman's life. He's not going to try to escape until he's done. So what's he supposed to do, sit around and brood all by himself while he's not working? What's that going to accomplish? I really don't think he switched sides just because he's allowed himself to relax enough to toss around a football.

Might as well stay in shape and get a good look around while he is there tending to Ben so he has a better chance of escaping on his own someday.

I thought the goth look was terrible on her. And for some reason the flashback made me think it had happened many years ago. And since most girls I know who were goth stopped being goth after high school, that means Claire was, like, 17 in that flashback! Dirty old men!

;)

I enjoyed the episode. There's still a bit of illogic as to why they're keeping Locke around (or how they expect to, y'know, get back through the security fence, since they don't have a spare tree).

And why weren't there a lot of dead animals rotting along that fence?

Great question! Hmm...you think maybe Mikhael lied about how the sonic fence works? ;)

I'm wondering if maybe it only affects people who have a chip implanted in them (like the mind game they played with Sawyer to keep him from running).

This brings up another interesting possibility, though: does the fence keep things out or keep people in?

I wonder what stage her and Charlie's relationship is really at? This is the third time she's summarily rejected Charlie and told him stay away from her and Aaron. Is she going to do that every time she gets mad at him? Does she love him at all?

You know what's really sad is that a good friend of mine used to date a girl who was like that. She'd withhold sex from him or otherwise give him ultimatums until she got her way, and when he didn't cave, she'd eventually cave, and then the next time they'd have an argument, it was back to the ultimatums.

Thank god the two of them didn't end up getting married.

I'm sure they'll find a way out. There certainly is one not to mention a way back in that the Others use.

I just assumed it was part of the pseudo-science going on. Like maybe it transmits some kind of frequency that keeps wildlife a certain distance away from it. Or maybe it only works on humans.
