Lost: So Who Dies?

Meh. I'd take any one of Kate, Sun or Claire over her (preferably, I wouldn't have to choose just one :]), in real life or on a desert island. To quote Pulp Fiction, personality goes a long way.
Everyone perferred Mary Ann over Ginger...you are right she is not needed on the island. :D

My guess is Hurley. He's the guy that everybody likes (well, at least until the Numbers episode), but still not filling any essential niche.

But Hurley is Mister Howell,,,and a fan favorite, I just don't see it and it would be hard to take. :D

It has to be someone whos back story has already run its course...

Which means Michael and Charlie are the obvious choices. And possibly Jack by seasons end.

The problem is that Michael is probably too important for the continued growth of Walt, and Charlie has already had his death faked and doing it again so soon loses the effect.

I'm hoping its Jack, but if you made me bet on it, I would pick Michael.

Is that some sort of Gilligan's Island reference? I'm not familiar with that show.
Yes, yes it is. I have been on a kick for sometime saying all the plots for LOST is from Gilligan's Island, Mister Howell was rich, he liked golf, and he did not do to much on the island.

Yes, but he wasn't fat. That was the Skipper.

Actually when you come right down to it, according to the show's creator Sherwood Schwarz, the underlying premise behind Gilligan's Island was as a microcosm for society, to illustrate how people with nothing in common can learn to get along and work together. That aspect of the show certainly applies to Lost.

My guess is Jack. After all, he was supposed to die in the pilot, by the admission of the writers and producer.

I could very easily see it being Boone as well. Besides becoming simply creepy, he seems to be the only one out of Locke's "students" that hasn't really learned his lesson. Everyone else Locke has tried to teach has actually improved themselves in some way.

this may be better as a poll :)

While I don't know who it will be, there have been a couple hints that narrow it down somewhat ...
