Low level teleportation

And you guys call yourself powergamers. ;) An 1st level Eldarin with 18 Str can lift a 360lb bolder then teleport it to 25ft above a foes head...ref vs squish.

Since THIS Eldarin is trained in athletics and has a 16 Dex he can make a skill check in athletics at +8 (as a free action) to reduce some of the 2d10 damage he would take. He then stands as a move action and picks up the rock as a minor action. He still has up to a standard action left over.

Lather, rinse, repeat. (Just make sure you have a cleric and perhaps some other help nearby.)

I call it the El Darin'

I never really saw what was so awsome about the Eldarin's teleport myself. He can jump 5 squares instead of moving 6, and, if he does manage to get somewhere where nobody else can, he's stuck there by himself until someone can come and get him.

Sure, being able to go somewhere otherwise inaccessible might be of benifit to the Eldarin or the group as a whole, but there's always the risk that comes from being isolated from the group- or just trapped for the rest of the encounter.

Fluff-wise it is pretty powerful, but so is the unlimmitted ability to shoot fire out of your fingertips.

Pick up rock - Minor
Teleport - Move
Stand up - Move
Pick up rock again - Minor

There's no way he could do this in one turn without an action point, and would especially not have any actions left over after doing it.

Sorry, no rinse and repeat on this one. Fey Step is a per-encounter power.

Of course, the DM could rule that, just like Wile E. Coyote, the Eladrin will always end up under the boulder when it hits the ground.

Good points all between my last post and this...still I wonder what 'ol Irontooth would say to a bolder, even if it IS just once AND I'd have to be on top of it when I port? (And I wasn't clear but the actions I mentioned were about the turn AFTER the El Darin' (tm) (r) (pirates hung by the neck till dead) was performed.

I'd hope he'd say: "mrphlurrrgggg....."

But even if that's the case, surely being restrained is being restrained. I can see some gray areas, but unless there's specific language in the PHB, I would assume that "tied up over here" translates to "poof + tied up over there".

As already mentioned it explicitly removes physical immobilizing effects, and you are not prevented from teleporting if you are restrained. And if you can go "chained to the wall here... poof not chained to the wall over here" I have a hard time seeing why you couldn't teleport out of shackles that are not fastened to the wall.

No but a bag sinched over your head or stuffing you in a chest, or extinguising the torches would do nicely.
