Zinnelis Laediril, Elven Ranger (Level 1)

Silver Road

The hound danced out of the way of Zinn’s sword and into the hooves of the horse. Zinnelis grunted in pain when the hound leapt on him, latching its powerful jaws on his neck and shoulder. He staggered beneath the weight but kept his balance. Going down would not be good. Using his sword crosswise he managed to push the beast off.

Zinn took a step, shifting his position and returning to the mist. He took a moment to assess his injuries. He was seriously hurt. He steeled himself, however, and once he thought he had the hound confused as to his location in the mist, he stepped out once more, aiming once more at the hound with his longsword. Following the attack, he quickly stepped back into the mist once more.

[sblock=OOC] Being on the edge of the obscuring mist should give Zinn the 20% concealment miss chance of the spell on defense while not hindering his attacks on offense, as you’re assumed to be positioned in a square most advantageous to you, if I remember the rule correctly. [/sblock]

Rak’tan seemed dazed by his wounds and stands unsteadily. He stares down the road towards Autumn and Raellynn. Raellynn has avoided the flaming ball and moves further down the road. He is now quite some distance from Autumn and soon a curve in the road will block him from view. Now, however, he is in the clear and he draws back and fires another arrow at the druid. Again, Autumn is pierced by the Harran arrow.

Arradon ended the threat of a second hound while Zinnelis struggled with the last remaining. Aelspeth keeps a tight grip on Kasmir’s reigns while the horse attempts to trample the dog under his hooves. Kasmir clips the hound with a hoof. The hound wheels and lunges at the horse’s throat but his teeth snapped on air.

Arradon Delgaran

Arradon strides across the battlefield, and death soon follows. He approaches the remaining hound from behind; with all of its attention focused on Zinnelis and Kasmir it never saw the blow coming. He drives his dagger into the beast's skull with a surprising amount of force. Blade pierces flesh and bone, and the hound falls twitching to the ground.

Silver Road

With his antagonist downed from behind by Arrodan, Zinnelis releases a sigh of relief and pain. He turns back to the mist, listening for any other combatants, unable to see Levanna, Autumn, or the Harran elf.

Zinn darted into the mist again, skirting along the edge, and emerging to see Raellyn escaping well away from them. Dropping his sword, Zinn drew back his bow again. It was a far shot, so he lifted his aim slightly and released. His shot went high, sailing well over the Harran elf's head.

Aelspeth Noromiel, Novice Conjurer

Kasmir stamps at the dead hound twice more while Aelspeth tugs on his reigns. Satisfied that the beast will not harry it any longer, the palomino turns and his elf rider guides him swiftly to Zinnelis's side. Aelspeth reaches inside her haversack to produce a wand and reaches down toward her fellow elf.

"Here, ranger. Tend to your wounds." She frowns then, and furrows her brow in thought. "Lacking the hunting hounds, I believe that Raellynn character will find us more difficult to track. I see no cause to give chase. We should recuperate and continue onward. Our employer made no mention of Thorn operatives and I think we have stumbled upon some conflict altogether separate from our assigned task."

Blue, I'm quite sure it was me holding things up. I had trouble posting over the weekend and have been really busy preparing for business travel.

For that matter, GE, I'll be out of town 2/05-2/10 and highly doubt I'll have any opportunity to get online except perhaps to read along occasionally by phone.
