Zinnelis Laediril, Elven Ranger (Level 1)

Silver Road

Zinnelis watched the confrontation between Arradon and the pixie, and Rak’tan’s intervention. He wondered what the other elf was so upset about. Autumn seemed to be able to calm him, both speaking some language Zinn didn’t recognize.

As they talked, Zinn went and gathered the horses, retrieving any that had run off during the fight, keeping his eye out for any other trouble. When he returned, things seemed to have calmed and they set out on the road to Kingsholm again.

Zinn listened to the pixie’s tale quietly. When it was finished, the elven ranger asked, “Who is this Lady? And what sort of power does this Heart hold that the Harran should want it?”

[section]Autumn Foxfire - Natural Mystic

Autumn awkwardly receives payment for the healing, but happily dispenses three charges from her wand before she stows it away. Thinking that she got herself into enough trouble chasing the elf, the druid keeps mum as the others talk with the pixie.

Etan seemed surprised that Zinnelis didn’t know of the Lady. At first he was a bit flustered and stammered over an explanation.

”Who is…? Are you… Ah, the Lady.” Just saying her title, or her name, it isn’t entirely clear which, settled the pixie. ”She was monarch of the wood around here, a true Power, and she held children dear and protected them. The Heart, well, we had many discussions about it in my home and never could agree but I’ll tell you what I think: the Heart is the Lady’s spirit and power and the Harran want it to crown their Ivy King ruler of these woods. Without it, they are held at bay and we have hope that the Lady will come again.”

Conversation continued throughout the day of travel and no more was seen of the Harran, Raellynn. Late in the afternoon a road branched off through fields to a cluster of buildings on a hill. The first building sported a freshly painted sign of a crown and a round, green-white vegetable: The Coronet and Cabbage.

[sblock=OOC]A coronet is a small crown. 'The Coronet and Cabbage' is the inn in Kingsholm. Sorry for the confusion; I could've been clearer on that.[/sblock]

Kingsholm/Coronet and Cabbage Inn

Zinnelis listened to the pixie’s explanation and nodded. “Then this Heart is a special thing,” he said. “We will attempt to keep it safe. Where were you going to bring it for safekeeping?” he asked the pixie.

As the afternoon drew on and they approached the road off to Kingsholm. The sight of the Coronet and Cabbage sign was welcome indeed, and Zinn pulled up outside the inn and dismounted.

“If you wish to get rooms for the evening, I will take care of the horses,” the elven ranger offered.

Levanna dismounted her horse and recomposed herself, smoothing out her robes and straightening her shoulders. "Natoriki," she intoned, gesturing with her staff. Blue and violet wisps of magic swept her from head to toes, expelling any accumulated grime and dirt from her body and clothing. Though clean she would have preferred a hot, relaxing bath instead.

"My thanks. Yes, a room with a bed for the evening would be most welcome," Levanna said to Zinnelis as she handed him the reins. She turned to Etan and asked "What about you, little one? Will you require a room for yourself?"

Arradon Delgaran

[section]

Arradon had hardly said two words during the remainder of the journey. He listened disinterestedly to the others discussion about bedroom assignments before heading off to the inn. Weary from his travels he carefully sits down at a table in corner, waiting to flag down the proprietor of the inn in order to arrange a room for himself.

The Coronet and Cabbage Inn

Etan nodded solemnly. ”Yes, the Heart is special indeed. Truth be told, I was desperate and not thinking of taking it any place in particular, just away from those hounds.” Etan turned thoughtful and fell silent as he mused on what next step he should take. He is shaken from his musings by Levanna’s question concerning a room and started to reply when Rak’tan made his comments. Etan smiled, pleased by the care and protection offered. ”I would make do with a spot by the fire but the safety of sharing a room with you is a welcome relief!”

The Coronet and Cabbage has a prominent stable to one side of the inn and a groom and a stable boy come out to help Zinnelis with the horses and make sure they are properly tended. Inside the inn, the common room is toasty warm and occupied at this early evening hour by only a couple of elderly men bickering over their flagons. A portly, middle-aged man comes in from the kitchen when he hears the door. ”Welcome, travelers! The Coronet and Cabbage has hot food, drinks to wash the road dust away, and soft beds when you are ready for your rest. I am Ian Turbrand. How may I serve you?” Ian Turbrand quotes a small sum for food and lodging, quite reasonable.

Though you haven’t seen much of the town you know from Ioso Springheel’s description that the cemetary is on the other side of the town and the statue of the unknown king uphill from the cemetary.
