As Levanna composed herself, she tried to recall what she had heard from Thane. She reached into her backpack and retrieved the tome of Venza's mythic history.

"Yes. Who or what is Torgrimr, Etan?" Levanna asked as she began flipping through the pages.

Etan looks at Levanna with concern but Autumn's healing from the wand sets the pixie's worry to rest. He slides the thin blade into its scabbard and begins to pace. Finally, he stops and stares up at the group.

"Torgrimr is a force of nature, a very powerful fey creature. And not the dance with the rabbits, happy faerie type either. He's old and there's a story written about him called 'The Song of Dorfundae'. All the facts are wrong, of course, but the basic story is true: a knight bested him within Torgrimr's own castle and cast him out. I've heard tell Torgrimr goes by the name Marrow Man and poles through the canals of Venza looking for unwary children to eat when he isn't guarding Underbridge, the troll-gate. I wouldn't care to pay whatever price he asks to open the gate."

Taking a closer look at the weapons left behind by Thane, one would see that the sword is nearly the size of the weapon Rak'tan carries. However, where Rak'tan's weapon is finely crafted, Thane's sword is more like a heavy slab of dark iron. And yet, it glimmers with the aura of magic for those with the sight to detect it. The arrows do not radiate magic but they are crafted of the same dark iron as the sword. The quiver, too, gleams with the aura of magic.

[sblock=OOC]Sooo I'll forfeit as much of my treasure as needed for that sword if it's cool with everyone, I'd say cold iron is a step up from my fire-forged steel(which I've yet to take advantage of).

“So we need to find this Torgrimr and make him open this troll-gate?” Zinnelis asked Etan. “And that is back in Venza.”

Examining the sword, Zinn finally handed it to Autumn, as well. “That is too unwieldy for me,” he said, “though perhaps it is more Rak’tan’s size.” He eyed the tiefling’s large sword.

The arrows and quiver were next. “These arrows will be handy fighting Fae,” he mused. He looked at Autumn, the other archer in the group. “Do you wish to split the arrows?” he asked. “And what about the quiver? I do owe you for the horse,” he admitted, “though this is worth much more.”

[sblock=OOC]How many of the cold iron arrows are there? I’m willing to split those with Autumn, if she wishes, and I’m happy to roll off for the efficient quiver if she wants it.

Etan groans and places his head in his hands.

"Yes. I can help you find Underbridge but dealing with Torgrimr... I wouldn't know how to begin." He laughs weakly. "Oh, yes, I do. I would run the other way as fast as I could. But, for the Lady..." Etan takes a deep breath and straightens his back but his eyes are bleak.

Zinnelis discovers, when he goes to assess the quiver and arrows, that the quiver is much more spacious than he expected. It holds three bundles of arrows, all tipped with cold iron; 60 arrows in total. It could hold quite a bit more than that inside.

[sblock=OOC]Right now, these items are greater than any one person's share but final division can happen at the end of the adventure. Rak'tan should obviously use the sword though he could take advantage of Autumn's fire magic if he used the fire-forged steel one; it's a tough choice. And since Autumn tends to use magic more than any other attack style I'd suggest the quiver get used by Zinnelis for the time being.[/sblock]

She takes a deep breath and continues, "I am guessing we should go back to the Coronet for the night and back to Venza in the morning? We must stay wary of our Harran assailant." Autumn is ready to go back to town for the night.

“Yes,” Zinnelis agreed with Autumn. “The Haran are still out there.” He glanced at the elven rogue accompanying them.

Zinn pulled five of the cold iron arrows out of one of the bundles. “Here. If you need more, just ask,” he told Autumn, handing the arrows to her. Hopefully we will have enough.” Removing his arrows from his old quiver, he placed them into the magical one.

“Let us return to the inn, get a good meal and a good night’s rest, and leave early for Venza.”

The night is still early and the lights shine from the Coronet and Cabbage beckoning the group, promising a safe place. The rest of the night passes uneventfully and the next two days of travel as well, with no sign of the Harran. On the eve of the second night of travel back to Venza the group rides to the city, sun setting and turning the buildings pink in the waning light. Crossing the bridge, Etan looks grim and glances significantly down. "He's down there, ya know." After, he clams up and refuses to say more until you've reached the safety of the Dunn Wright Inn.

This night, too, passes quietly. In the morning Aelspeth greets the others with her face lined with worry. "I'm not continuing." She wrings her hands and looks distraught at taking her leave. "I mean, I think I would do more good consulting with Ioso, if he has returned, or doing research. Be well." With that she hurries off, leaving the rest to finish their breakfast.

Etan clears his throat and looks around. It's early and the common room is pretty empty. "I can show you the way to Underbridge, when you're ready."

When she finished her breakfast, she rose from her seat and gathered her cloak and staff.

"I would like to see if it is possible to buy a healing potion while we are in town. Would anyone care to join me?"
