just out of curiosity, did either of the prequels actually tank? I can't imagine that they weren't fairly profitable...
I was talking about the Guardian article. "George Lucas unveiled the final part of his Star Wars sextet to a select gathering of American journalists at his Skywalker ranch in California yesterday after admitting that he is currently convinced that the film won't make any money."Ankh-Morpork Guard said:But what he said in the CNN article wasn't 'boneheaded' at all. He just said they're recieving a lot of flak from parents and such over the PG-13 Rating, and that CAN be seen as a hint that the movie may not do too well.
He's not saying "my movie sucks". He's never said that. What he always worries about, though, is that no one will ever see it and even if they do, he'll be the only one who likes it. THAT, is not something unique to Lucas, or this movie. Many, many artists are like that. Especially when its something this big. So yes, this is unwarranted Lucas attacking.

Also, even if you do think that, it's a bad time to bring it up. That's what's boneheaded.

Is that a rhetorical question or do you really want an answer?LrdApoc said:I make stupid comments all the time and I get called on them. Doesn't mean I'm stupid... or does it??
I merely comented on the fact I thought his comment was stupid.. not that he was stupid.. sigh.. the internet wins again.
Henry said:The reason that Phantom Menace I think made as much as it did was the impact of those rabid fans contributing sight unseen. Maybe I'm wrong, but I could see this movie making somewhere between that 600 million and 900 million dollar mark, if not surpassing the 900 million from Phantom Menace if it has some awe-inspiring moments or really catchy dialogue in it.
