Legend
I am probably fine with most too (just not all). Unless they conflict with long established lore of course!I on the other hand am perfectly fine with most statblocks having those things.

Technically silvered weapons are still more effective. But I am not a fan of this stat block. My werewolves will continue to be based on the Loup Garou from VRGtR. That is the best "official" 5e werewolf IMO.It allowed for a setting where magic weapons weren't available at the corner store and you had to find other ways to stop the supernatural. I want those settings to still be a thing.
Yeah ... I would rather see this irreversible stuff happen AFTER failing the Death saves. Not a fan of how the new rules for the curse. There seem to be a frustrating number of effects in the 2025 Monster Manual where dropping a creature to 0 hit points is instantly fatal or otherwise removes them from play, like the Mind Flayer Arcanist's 120 foot brain consumption.
Having so many effects that bypass death saves encourages DMs to pull punches and fudge dice, IME.
Then make it that way. Noone stops you.It allowed for a setting where magic weapons weren't available at the corner store and you had to find other ways to stop the supernatural. I want those settings to still be a thing.
Oh, I do. But if the shiny new books consistently tell people that magic is the readily available answer to every problem, those new players will believe them, and soon enough support for other points of view will be crushed under the weight of the market leader. And I think that's kinda sad. Then make it that way. Noone stops you.
As noone stops me from reducing Lycanthrope AC to 10+dex when not shape shifted.
I really don't like the troll like regeneration for Lycanthropes. I am glad they did not do that. And actually I am glad they don't have too much regeneration. It is annoying to keep track of.Technically silvered weapons are still more effective. But I am not a fan of this stat block. My werewolves will continue to be based on the Loup Garou from VRGtR. Actually the new stat blocks have reduced the reliance on magic...Oh, I do. But if the shiny new books consistently tell people that magic is the readily available answer to every problem,
Since the premise is false, the conclusion can't be right. But you double down calling new players naive?those new players will believe them, and soon enough support for other points of view will be crushed under the weight of the market leader. And I think that's kinda sad.
The PH certainly hasn't reduced anyone's reliance on magic, and its the PCs tools I'm talking about here.Actually the new stat blocks have reduced the reliance on magic...

Why are you speaking of "shiny new blocks" then? The PH certainly hasn't reduced anyone's reliance on magic, and its the PCs tools I'm talking about here.
It really is. I homebrewed my own werewolves based on this. This kind of regeneration perfectly represents at the table how werewolfs are weak to silver in my opinion.Technically silvered weapons are still more effective. But I am not a fan of this stat block. My werewolves will continue to be based on the Loup Garou from VRGtR. That is the best "official" 5e werewolf IMO.
