I am utterly amazed at the posts that seem to find the fact that Barker is dead even remotely relevant. Back when I was reading EPT in the 80s, the fact that Barker was
alive made very little difference to me either. As I posited to the
last person who did this, should we also be withholding praise for dead authors, or does this only apply to gripes? Or heck, can you just provide a simple argument for why the author being dead has any bearing on the discussion, its' appropriateness, or why that makes you so amused? As it stands, it just seems like a non sequitur.
