Regarding gap filling and the need for a tech, Max has +17/+19 in suit Computers, and he could within theme add some Mechanical or Demolitions (demo requires multiple skills, so I'd prolly only get that if I get variable or ap equipment so I don't also need to know how to cook the stuff up from scratch) stuff within theme. He also can maybe make room for gadgets.
To do any of the above, I'd need to recrunch points, though. The following are places where I could conceivably save points. Please accept or reject as you wish, and then I;ll see what I can buy with it. The savings from each are in parenteses.
1. Decide he's totally out of practice with survival and kill the skill entirely, since he'll probably never use it and as such its not actually an adventuring-relevant skill (1pp)
2. Kill the lightning bolt ability (1pp, but he might just replace it with another attack. Im not crazy about that attack.)
3. Kill the communication ability (Since he'll have a commlink anyway, and hopefully a cell...or can his DEVICE computer feature include a WiMax modem and VoIP.) (1pp)
4. Trade one or two points of Base Defense for Dodge Focus. (1pp or 2pp)
5. Drop 2 points of Wis (I'd really rather not do this, but I could), and buy back the point of will save. (1pp)
6 . Reconfigure super-strength and flying into a dynamic array, as fly 5 / ss 5 . (2pp)
7. Drop two points of base attack, take the masterwork computer out of the battlesuit and make it built into his body, add one point into the device to add a point to the attack array, to be used for a second point of accurate on the ranged stuff, while trading one point of SS and the extra point for two points of melee focus and either some kind of ss power feat (shockwave?) or improved grapple. (3pp)
8. Drop one point of Base Attack, still switch the computer out, and still buy my attacks up again in the array (1pp)
